similarly, monoprice is a value brand. they will tend to use cheaper panels. because one VA panel sucks, that doesn't mean all do.
with that said, VA panels may simply not be for you. some people can't seem to accept anything other than ips, and nothing wrong with that. buy/use what you like.
It was the inspiron 5000 I believe that a lot of people stacked capital one, and r1 cashbsck site. Thought it was va maybe it was ta
Solid specs all around, I think some folks are nit picking too much at this value price range.

Speakers on LG, none on Samsung (I get this can be minor, but I like a clean setup without additional stand-alone speakers. If I want to be an audiophile, I'll use headphones)
LG is Curved, Samsung is not
35" vs 34" - same resolution however
Height adjust on LG, none on Samsung
USB hub on LG, none on Samsung
DisplayPort 1.4 on LG, 1.2 on Samsung
So a lot of it comes down to creature comforts. They're both VA panels, similar color gamuts and coverages, brightness factors, etc.

I just purchased the Samsung you are referring to.
Curve is a preference and I prefer not to have a curve on this size. The 49" gaming ones...then yes I'd prefer the curve.
Only advantages I see are usb and the 100Hz refresh. The Samsung is 75Hz but some have overclocked between 90Hz and 110Hz. The displayport and one of the hdmi is rated for the 75Hz, one of the hdmi is 50Hz...yes, 50Hz.
The Samsung has a headphone jack and adjustable picture in picture.
I "upgraded" from an HP 27" IPS 75Hz. The Samsung is basically the same height, I just gained width.
I found an easy way for me to switch from an IPS to a VA. I didn't compare the pictures side by side. I didn't use both in the same day.
By the way, the Samsung is often on sale for $269.
The LG stand is really nice and sturdy with the 950 and from the pics this uses the same one. Also the OSD is well layed out vs the Acer which takes 4 clicks just to change the inpuit.
Really temped by this deal if it is a binned or 100Hz version of the LG 950 panel.

Samsung is non-curved besides 75hz refresh rate, didn't mention HDR either. The price reflected all these differences.

Still at the $299.99 price I paid.
