This is a great machine at a really good price. Deal is not getting any love but I'd for sure buy if I was in the market for a really super well equipped laptop with a great 3:2 aspect ratio screen.

Unlikely, I bought this refurb from acer, they charged return shipping when I wanted a price match.
I got this machine refurbished from Acer through Best Buy website and it's exceeded my expectations. I'm running docker containers, build processes, and more with no issues. I also got a USI pen from Amazon and use Squid for my note-taking. I don't like the USI support as much as I did the S-pen on the Samsung (another reason I've been hesitant to upgrade), but it's still good and works for all my daily note-taking.
When I'm not working on it, I can just turn off the Linux container and have a really good and fear web experience.
Because if my job, I don't think it will ever replace my main production box, but it's more than enough to work on the go and personal use.
Sidenote. There's also native support for DisplayLink. Here's this Chromebook running 3 external screens (two usb-> vga, 1 hdmi->vga) and the internal. No lag or issues. It's also connected to a USB hub connected to a webcam, keyboard, mouse, and headset. Again, I don't think I'd use this as my everyday box, but it would definitely do the job if I needed it to. We also have the Samsung CB Pro. It's overall so very good but we're always at the RAM limit. Still not sure if I like 3:2 display since I often have two screens side-by-side, but I've only heard great things about this model.
How do you like it as an upgrade? Better keyboard, I always thought the Samsung was "fine". I suppose your Linux dev is a big part (which we don't have). Weighing this one, Lenovo from Costco, or just sitting tight.
edit: best buy price $529.00 (new)
Wasn't it $529? like $80 more than this? Does a new unit have 1 year or 2 year warranty?
This has a 2 year warranty though non-oem. Long timeline, but not sure how well they do with claims.
