Microsoft has recently announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold is going up. The $60 1 year membership will now be $60 for a 6 month membership. If you are subscribed at the current rate they will honor a renew at your old price.

Retailers are now carrying the new $60 6 month cards. You can get ahead by stocking up on the old cards at their original price points being the price hike. This will make the gamepass trick more expensive too at the new price points, so now is the time.

I've provided a few good prices below. Take advantage while you can.

Costco: 2 years for $95.00

Target: 1 year for $59.99

Amazon: 1 year for $59.99

I don't understand their logic in doubling the price. People like myself who haven't decided which new system they intend to buy will now be more inclined to buy a PS5. As much as I miss Halo, I might skip the Xbox again.
They've said Halo multiplayer will be free online.

You should have posted accurate info in the first place, instead of dumbing things down. You wrote "PSN is at least going to bring, literally, xcloud gaming from Microsoft". That's quite a bit different than writing, "Sony is going to use Microsoft Azure tech for PS Now". The article you linked doesn't even mention "xCloud".

xCloud runs on top of Azure, as do tons of other services from other companies. So xCloud is not Azure, and mixing up the names is bad. Heck Microsoft doesn't even use the xCloud name in their marketing anymore, it's now Game Pass Cloud gaming.
No shit, but if you didn't enjoy jumping on posts for minor things and being a keyboard warrior, it wouldn't matter. You think more people known what azure is vs xcloud in this post? I wanted to avoid explaining what azure is.

Slick deal try hard like you are why people don't bother posting and just read posts. You should reevaluate your life and why you feel like such a failure you need to correct everyone on such minor things that are on topic. Release the butthole pucker a bit before you have a aneurysm.

This thread is exploding! So to summarize, A.) as of right now ("already") if you have an *existing* game pass ultimate subscription, you will only get 4 months of ultimate extended per 1-year of gold codes redeemed, right? Doesn't matter where you've bought the gold codes from, or when? AND B.) However, if you haven't used the $1 convert to Ultimate trick, you can still load 3 years of Gold to your account, and then pay the $1 to convert to 3 years of ultimate? Thanks!!

Costco seems to be out of these. I've had my order cancelled twice now.

I'm going to run out tonight and see if they have any of the physical cards left at Costco or Sams. Maybe bite the bullet on 2 1 year if they don't.

How? I'm only at 8k for this month. Is there different ways to earn points that I don't know about? I get only ~450/day.
There are Game Pass quests on Xbox.

Online Costco is weird sometimes, had the same thing happen when buying a Nintendo eShop card. I would try a couple more times.

If you are using somebody else's Costco card try making sure the Billing details/name match the members info.

does 12 months of EA play still convert to 4 months of GPU (assuming my GPU is current)?
It does, I just stocked up like 10 minutes ago.

Specifically bought codes from here: https://www.shopto.net/en/dwnld37...6dfb990b7a

I am in the US and it worked for me (no VPN's or anything needed). Comes out to $5.85/month for current GPU subscribers.

I have near 2 years. So I need to buy one more. But after this, bye xbox.
I'm in the same boat but not sure if I want to top it off to the max of 3 yrs. Real bad taste in my mouth at what they are doing.

That is too much of a price increase.

I'm glad I'm covered thru January of 2024. I will simply add a few more of those Pringles codes between now and May (when the promo supposedly expires).

I used to get a year for $30 back in the day.... now you're telling me the "regular" price is going to be $120 per year.

Good lord... do they include LUBE with that?
Is there anyway I can blame this on the current President of the United States?
No lube this time.

Wouldn't the cost to rebuy your games somewhat negate the $5/month increase for at least a couple years? Not really sure I see the savings long-term. Also, will all your friends you play online with switch to PC, too? Sorry, I never play xbox online so I don't really know how that works but I assume it's to vs your friends.

Guys need help understanding how I make this work for me best way. Newbie here.
I bought xbox series x and enrolled for $1 for 3 months GPU offer from holiday season. That should run out in March.
H
What is my best option to enroll in 3 year GPU at lowest price? Possible? How?
Less than 3 years fine too. Possible? How?

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more. As a PC owner and new PS5/Xbox owner, I find myself playing on console way more now. The free Classics Collection on PS5 will keep me occupied for the next year or two. The GamePass Ultimate library will keep me playing on Xbox for... ever? $30 for a year of PS Plus and $60 for a year of GamePass Ultimate (or $120/year for each if you have to pay retail) is better than any Steam / Epic collection I can put together for that price on PC.

I would say I used to agree with your stance on PC vs console, but I don't think that argument holds water right now. Oh, and plus GamePass Ultimate gives me free games on my PC - I'm currently playing MS Flight Simulator and Crusader Kings 3 on my computer, with Control, A Plague Tale, and Kingdom Come Deliverance waiting in the backlog.
So you're a fan, boy, I guess I'd have to reply that It's a matter of personal preference to not be charged for games I have almost no interest in...I think the last time I played Flight Simulator was like 1997. I saw maybe 20 games I thought looked interesting on GamePass Ultimate when I used it.
