Purists poo poo this model as it has humbuckers instead of JM singlecoils, lack of the rhythm circuit (which few really use), and no traditional jm tremolo system... and it's got a tune-o-matic bridge instead of the usual offset bridge (good news most likely {except for the neck radius issue}).
I'm sure it's a great playing guitar, it's just pretty far away from the old jazzmaster. I think it looks killer too.
Just pull up the tone knob.
I will say that on the used market the player jazzmasters sell great. The white one sells for 599 used and sells pretty much immediately.
So those Adorama ones for $5xx sure were the deal last year!
