I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

FICO score near 800, no cap one card in recent memory ~5 years, have cap one savings and checking, one card in 24 months (I believe) several mortgage credit pulls, credit score dipped because of that, however, venture got approved online.

What credit line did they give you for your nearly 800 FICO score?
I hear nothing but bad things about Capital One. Everything from being super stingy with credit limit increases to rejecting people for no apparent reason. It's insane reading people here with 800+ credit scores being rejected.
I got a credit increase each year since ising up in 2018. If you are actually using the card and pay off your balances to zero they should have no reason to deny you a credit increase. You can do the increase manually in your account if you get denied, try again and lower your requested increase. If you have a credit report that shows you can't pay your debts in a timely manner that will get you denied regardless of your credit score.
Not recommended to sign up for a credit to get $200 bonus and then be 20k in debt and destroy your credit, not a good deal
There's no reason for a responsible adult to not have and use a credit card. You have far better anti-fraud and consumer protection under federal law for credit cards - you don't get this with a debit card, and a debit card exposes your bank account to fraud risk. You don't have to carry cash, and your credit card statement(s) provide a record of virtually all your purchases.
I've never not paid off my credit card bill in full each month. Never paid interest. Never paid a late fee.
Have gotten quite a few cash bonuses for opening credit cards.
Have gotten cash back for money spent on the credit card.
Have successfully disputed credit card charges when the product shipped by the credit card company didn't live up to its claims or warranty.
Capital One has no foreign transaction fee.

CapOne starts with number of credit card apps in last 24 months - if two or more, you're not getting one, no matter how high your score.
Don't apply if you've got two or more credit applications of any kind on last 24 months, STOP.
If you don't, they're pretty easy. It took me a couple years and hours of online research to figure this out.
BTW - they're secured cards are the best you can get, great way to start building credit if you have none or bad.

I keep getting offers for prequlify and I always do for 2 basic and 1 secure one and I had more than 2 credit card apps in last 24 months. Wish they had soft pull for these cards as well.
You seem to be the only honest one in this thread. I have a Quicksilver card. I got it around 2017. Back then it seems the average opening line of credit was $5000-10K. I heard a few people say they got an opening line of 12k. If someone has an 800+ FICO score they would not get a 1k line of credit. Considering your credit line during covid is $7500 with a 780 FICO. That is pretty good.
A power play move would be to max out your line and pay it off at the end of the month. Maybe do it a couple of times and say nothing and see if they increase your credit line.
That Dave Ramsey guy has quite the following. None of his followers can rent a car or hotel after cutting their credit cards.
I have a 850 score and i got 30k limit, Where as i have chase and citi cards that give me 60k, I have been making a payment almost every day on capital one to Increase my line of credit to no Vail. I max out my card and pay before it is due, Have been doing it for over a Year.

I don't what is more impressive, your credit score or your 1st post here on SD. I would hate to go fishing with you when you describe any and all fish you caught.
Cancelling this card. A transaction (food delivery) was coded as cash advance out of nowhere. Capital One told me to shove off and work it out with the merchant. If no resolution, I'll be paying a cash advance fee + the high interest rate that comes with it.
If no issues, great card for the $200 bonus. Cash back could be higher.

Were you by any chance using this card through PayPal Key? There have been issues with transactions being coded as cash advances when cards were charged through PayPal Key.

Hi, I just applied and got accepted for the capital one savor card today. Would it be possible to apply for the quicksilver credit card for another $200 bonus or would i probably get denied. This is my 1st capital one card in years.
