I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

Don't apply if you already have one of their card unless you really wanted that $200 after $500 spent but not guaranteed . What I didn't like is I have one and pre-approved then got rejected with score 810. Reason: Too many cards like other people said. Not worth to waste 4 Points to gain $200. Just my experience
FWIW: I got a Visa card offer in a mailer yesterday from M&T Bank with a similar offer ($200 back with $500 spent in 90 days) if U already have an account with this regional bank.
I hear nothing but bad things about Capital One. Everything from being super stingy with credit limit increases to rejecting people for no apparent reason. It's insane reading people here with 800+ credit scores being rejected.
Yup, I have 830+ credit score and a few times i ask for credit increase sometimes its denied sometimes it is 1k increase. Ask for 8k from a visa and no problem.
Not sure if this matters for many. I got my card activated last week without any issues, but I couldn't get Eno setup to generate virtual cards. I kept getting an error saying they couldn't verify that I was the owner of the cellphone number being used to activate Eno. Mind you, this is the same number I used to setup up the cap 1 account.
After some back and forth on the phone and chatting with their twitter social team, someone from their technical support team called me this morning about the issues. She said that it can take 1 billing cycle before all the features of the card can be used, so that's probably why I am getting the errors trying to setup Eno.
Never heard of this before, but nothing I can really do except wait.
Outside of the bonus, why would anyone use this over a 2% card?
Most not all 2.0 cash back cards are by invitation only.
Banks that let you apply for 2.0 cash back card are likely to decline your request even with perfect credit score.
Hard inquiries to your credit effect your score so.. when they decline your request you credit
score will drop. Creating a cycle of build your credit up again just to be turned down.
Getting a 1.5 cashback card isn't that much easier but with good credit you odds are
more likely in your favor.
Anyone who has open line of credit already should cancel their cards once approved for a cash back card. Having too many open credit cards is a RED FLAG to any lender regardless of current credit score. Nobody needs more than 2 open lines of credit.
It's best to check the pre-qualification check website first. It will show you every Capital One credit card your credit profile qualifies you for and you won't have to suffer a hard pull. https://www.capitalone.com/credit...reapprove/
Does anyone know if I had applied from the direct email yesterday, do I still be eligible for the $200 offer? Can't find in email anything related to the $200 bonus offer. They approved my application yesterday.

I applied this morning from their website directly. I got a confirmation email for the following:
0.0% intro APR on purchases for 15 months; 15.24% variable APR after that
PLUS
Limited-Time Offer: Earn up to a $500 Cash Bonus, with a one-time $200 cash bonus once you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months and up to $300 cash back by earning 5% back on purchases at grocery stores and gas stations for the first 6 months.¹

as I understand multiple hard pulls on same day count as only one against your credit
