Costco: Apple Magic Keyboard for 11 inch iPad Pro or new iPad Air $199.99 ($90 off) - $199.99

$90 savings is valid 2/2/21 through 2/7/21. Limit 2 per member.

If you have an 11 inch iPad Pro (both the 2nd gen released last year and 1st gen will work with this) or the new iPad Air released last fall and you didn't pick one up during the Walmart or Amazon sales I highly recommend getting this deal. The Magic Keyboard was a huge upgrade for my 12.9 Pro, I still love it after 3 months.

Includes a built-in trackpad, sturdy smoothly adjustable hinge, backlit keyboard with the same switches as new MacBooks, and an extra port for charging.

Also, this keyboard isn't subject to the 90 day electronics return policy, you can return it whenever you want for whatever reason.

It's $199 *on sale*. laugh out loud

That said it's a quality product. I just think people purchase it expecting it to be a standard keyboard folio, when in fact it weighs 1.3lbs on its own. It iPad Pro 11 by itself weighs 1lb. So you're more than doubling the weight.

There is a subset of people who use an iPad as their main computing device. Heck, most people do a majority of their day-to-day computing on an iPhone. For those people, this makes sense. For the rest of us who have laptops/desktops, turning an thin-and-light iPad into a thick-and-heavy laptop defeats the purpose.
Understood. I jumped ship on OSX 20 years ago. No regrets. It's a good OS, but this kinda thing, just wow. My gf is a Mac person so I wanted to have a look, like maybe ... the purchase included 2 plane tickets to Maui.

I am looking for one. I initially purchased a $60 one on Amazon, but I was not too fond of it. So, I started researching on this one vs. Logitech folio. I finally went with Logitech Folio because:

1. Logitech has more viewing angles. In this Apple keyboard, you must take the iPad out of the case if you want to read books or draw art. Apart from the angle that you see in the image above, there are no other angles this case can be adjusted to.

2. Logitech keyboard has a full row of function keys. Surprisingly, the Apple keyboard is missing that full row on the top, and a lot of users overlook that.

3. Logitech Folio provides full protection around the iPad. Apple case doesn't provide that protection.

4. Apple keyboard is attached to the case using a magnet. So, if it falls from a decent height, the chances are high that your expensive iPad may come out of the case and broken.

Don't go for the brand but think about the use-cases. I am not against Apple because I already own an iPad if I am writing this Smilie

This is misleading.

1. The angle shown in the pic is when it's pushed all the way back, it can be adjusted to any angle smaller, which is very useful for getting a good view of the screen. You can also even have the screen facing downwards and the hinge will still hold it securely. Not that you would ever need to do that but it shows how sturdy it is, and that there are many angles. Though it's not the best for drawing or using in portrait.

2. The missing function keys is sort of a pain, but due to all the other benefits of this over the Logitech keyboard it's worth it. You can also still use keyboard shortcuts by holding command or other keys.

3. The Magic Keyboard may not protect from drops as well, but it does an excellent job of protecting from scratches and is fairly thick on both sides. It's also much easier to open and close than having to deal with a bunch of folding.

4. I'm not sure why an open iPad with this would fall, maybe if someone pushed it off or bumped it hard accidentally. Not likely at all though.

Lastly, Costco doesn't carry Logitech's keyboard, so you don't have unlimited satisfaction guaranteed return time. It also looks much more aesthetically pleasing, if you're into that Smilie

But yes, it's not right for everyone. Depends on what you mainly use your iPad for.

I paid $ 245 at BB in December. Sale price plus AMEX $ 25 credit.
Surprised at the quick price cuts. I would have waited.

FYI. If you purchase it on the same receipt as your IPAD, the IPAD AppleCare warranty covers it. I think that goes for the pencil too.
AppleCare is not available separately.

I love it, and have no regrets.

This better be magic for $199. Apple thinks people can just make money magically.

I love how Apple lovers justify their purchases. Just like my Apple loving wife. Hey, whatever makes you feel good.
