Do they work the same way for jump starting or is one better than the other? Asking because I have zero experience with this.

Wow, thank you for that link. That's a super informative video.
Have had about 4-5 these rebranded in different names, none really lasted a year without the battery draining in a 1-2 month, not working at all, last one before the noco it would stay on until it drained itself.
PS, the noco in the youtube comparison was a 7000a the one on slickdeals at the moment is a 1000a
just In case people are comparing them.
All these should be checked a couple of times a year, before winter and before summer.
Leaving it in the car for a year or more without checking it is asking for trouble, especially considering the winter temps in your area.
Also, since some cars use power only to unlock/open the trunk and the rear seats may not fold down, these and also jumper cables that should be there as a backup, they should be kept inside the car for ease of access, maybe under the seat or in the glove box.

It sounds like "boost" is a sale gimmick from noco and gooloo.
The only complain I have is that they included a little sheet with a barcode on it inside the package. It says scan the code and visit the site to activate your 24month warranty. When on the site, it makes you a go through a series of questionnaires (usual data mining) and also asks you to write a review for a $20 Amazon gift card that will supposedly be delivered in "2-5 days". Forget the gift card, its been weeks now and I still haven't even received any sort of email confirmation saying your warranty has been activated. Called their customer service number and was told to email their customer service with screenshots that show that I filled out the questionnaire and left a review. Sent them a nice email with supporting screenshots several days ago but haven't heard back. Why promise a 24 month warranty and a gift card if you're not going to honor it?
