That configuration is a steal. When you get to the page you might look for a tab to pick the GPU. You won't find it. You have to change the CPU to change the GPU.
At that price this should be instant front page!
It will display:
The price of this product has changed from $1,439.99 to $1,384.99 since you added it to cart.

I know it's more expensive, but it is 100% a Max P 3070 with 16 GB of 3200 RAM, and a 5800H... and it's not HP. Don't have many good experiences with HP.

Guess it depends on what you're planning on doing - gaming would be the Omen of course.

Buy now think later.....can always resell for $50 more or return for full refund (with good excuse)!

Also a few months ago I placed an order at HP which was in "ORDER ASSEMBLY" state for over 3 weeks and I still was able to cancel it w/o any issues or restocking fee with a customer service.
**So custom built laptop can be returned? Also refund policy says: 15% restocking fee and cannot refuse delivery.
I remember reading these thinner omens are max-q.
It seems like a good deal and not a price mistake for the HP.
1) 90Wh vs 76Wh battery.
2) 4.2lbs vs 5.43 lbs or 1.23 lbs lighter and slightly thinner
3) Ryzen 9 5900hs vs ryzen 7 5800h (5% faster on userbenchmark but that is not all that accurate site?)
4) 300 nits 100% dci-p3 pantone certified display (looks very good) vs 300 nits
G14 comes with 1tb ssd. This can be configured to 512gb ssd (-$90 from 1tb ssd. 1tb nvme m.2 ssd was $90 FP on SD).
I was debating whether to downgrade. More money can be saved with the FHD + 5600h + 3060 config ($1176 after tax) or QHD+5600h+3060 config ($1380 after tax, or FHD + rtx 3070 ($1360 after tax). But if the best deal for this is rtx 3070 max-q and rtx 3070 max-q can handle most games at 1440p maxed (1440p also look sharper for other things), it's a good idea to go with QHD as a long term purchase (although laptop becomes an expensive long term purchase & getting close to that FP dell rtx 3080 desktop). I did return a rtx 2060 max-q g14 that developed fan clicking so asus QC is not the greatest. Although the 3070 is a max-q (still really good for ray tracing. DLSS 2.0 & dynamic boost helps), i think it's a worthy upgrade from rtx 2060. I remember benchmark shows rtx 3060 being only 15-20 fps more and 6gb vram could be a bottleneck for texture packs, higher res, etc. In the end I decided to keep the g15 for more.

Also, HP delayed my order on the previous OMEN 3090 deal. Pushed it back until the 3/12. We'll see on that too..
