For occasional power outage. I need enough juice to power my wifi router and recharge laptops and cell phones for a few hours. I have a separate backup battery for my FiOS modem since that unit is located in our garage.

I'd like to have a good backup for my Cpap and "BigBlue" should do the trick but for less money I think you could do better?

I've never had much luck with inverters actually living up to their recommended power capacity. Maybe for something like running my bi-pap or some really low power requirements, they might work, but for anything near their advertised power draw, not a chance.

I have a 2000/4000 watt inverter that I tried to run a 750/1500 watt space heater through, using my deep cycle boat batteries. It constantly failed.

The inverter I was using wasn't cheap compared to many of them, somewhere around $250 (Schumacher's PC-2000). The deep cycle batteries I was using were Duracell Ultra BCI Group 31M 12V 800CCA AGM Marine & RV Battery, around $300 per battery.

I'd go with a small multi fuel generator and an extension cord if I wanted to depend on it to work.

With recent power outages, I'm looking for a solution for next blackout it 1) in winter should be able to run small portable heater for 4 - 5 hour at the time 2) in summer should be able to run small window AC also for 4 - 5 hours at the time. Will this unit fit the bill?
I live in apartment so generator is out of questions

Sadly no. A typical heater consumes 1 KW or more so you'd only get 15 minutes of heating from a 250 Wh station. No sure about the window AC, but that eats a fair amount of power as well.

I take it you've never actually used or seen a diesel heater before. If you winter camp, I suggest looking at them. Fan, fuel pump, and glow plug all need power. It's a heat exchanger and not an engine. They use very little power and fuel. Maybe 3/4 a gallon over 9hrs of run time. Kept my tent at 60 while it was 4 outside.

it was discussed here before. Its an ok noname power station, nothing crazy about it. Heavy and bulky due to lifepo4 cell type. Charge rate at 70W is slightly above average for noname products. Pass through for DC and AC ports. Does not support simultaneous charge. Let us know about $30 GC - I expect them to decline it.

Winter - look for Mr Buddy heater with propane tank, it is safe indoors. Summer - you can take cold shower. I'm not joking.

I have an aquarium with a 150 watt heater. The power in Texas went out for multiple days and I had to pour boiling water in to avoid fish dying. Do you all think this would be a good idea to prevent having to do that? The heater does not run continuously.

you see, 250Wh / 150W * 0.8 = 1h 20min max run time.

Your much better off with the battery you picked up. It will have plenty of juice for everything you want to do with it.

That UPS isn't made to recharge your phone and laptop and it's heavy.
