You are not wrong. In this universe during these days some privileged people still have disposable income to spend such money on keyboard alone 😅
Apple sheep. $60 keyboard / mouse case works fine. Not that I would have bought the Apple 12.9 Ipad if I didn't get it as a free work related gift, but no way in hell I would pay the bloated prices they command for a product likely inferior to the dozens of similar products on Amazon that do the same thing.
I've had 3 iPads in my life and only got new ones because I wanted a quality of life upgrade. Always sold for a good price because even after years and years they were in perfect working condition. I've been buying Apple for 15 years and the prices are inflated but out of all the hardware I've owned, I've never once had an issue with any of the iPhones / iMacs / iPads / Mac Minis / MacBooks that I've owned. Literally not a single issue with any product minus slow performance after over a decade of use which you can't say with other products. The assurance you're getting something that's going to live a long life is worth the price.
There are several cheaper keyboards for iPad Pro including the Apple Folio. The only ones with trackpad are the Logitech Folio Touch and the Brydge trackpad keyboard. Neither have the tilting pivot screen like Apple's Magic, but are decent alternatives for much less.

You sound like you will go through life wasting time complaining about other people's choices and things you cannot afford. Better gadgets, fancier restaurants, luxury cars, bigger houses, nicer vacations. The list is endless so you have your work cut out. You could also spend that time just enjoying the benefits of people and things you have without any comparison.

As odd as it sounds and not trying to make any political statement here, but it's not just some "privileged view" who have quite a bit more disposable income than they ever have before. Sadly, there are still ~10M unemployed vs. Feb 2020, BUT, of the bottom four deciles, they have many multiples more disposable income than ever in the past 25 years. Yes, some went from 0 to 500, or 500 to 1200, and even much beyond that.. they should NOT buy a magic keyboard with any of that money (or put it in the stock market please like so many did last Spring) but more people have more "disposable" income than in nearly any of our lifetimes. It WILL be spent, and probably starting in June we're going to see more consumer consumption than in decades.
Thank you for the heads up. I was on my way to Costco when I saw this.
1. Telling others how they should spend their money. What you should be buying instead. Even though they never tried the product the thread is about.
2. Apple is overpriced.
3. Only Apple sheep would buy this.
If I don't like/not interested in XYZ product I'm scrolling right past the thread. Simple as that.
