I can't imagine ever paying for something that says "with ads" in the product description.

These streaming services are such a scam. With so many out there now, its actually cheaper to just get cable.
Yes and no...

If you don't care about live as much then you can pay for 1 promotion, and then quit and move to the next service and quit and so on.

They don't come out with new shows fast enough, anymore, so you can pretty much watch everything in a couple of months on CBS, then watch everything for a couple months on NBC and then maybe Disney+ and so on. Then you are only paying $10 per month and actually watching what you pay for.

Worst is if you are paying all these services while waiting for them to release something new. Just pay for them when you need them Smilie

P.S. There aren't many shows like Game of Thrones or The Mandalorian on right now so you don't have to worry about spoilers. If there is a show that you don't want spoiled, then subscribe to that service near the end of that show's run.

I did it for the in-laws and they own their modem. Pretty sure they don't pay any extra modem fees. They've had services w/ Comcast/Xfinity for years. YMMV.

I just ordered the free Flex from https://www.xfinity.com/learn/flex maybe a few months back.
This is correct.

Not really related, I returned the Flex because I couldn't upgrade to unlimited data plan when it was in my possession.

I'm on this service... with the free tier... I binged out on 3rd Rock from the Sun, and "Monk"... the commercial breaks were reasonable ...

Hulu should adopt this model imho

How am I supposed to sign up for this with an existing free account?

If I sign in, I get re-directed to the normal service. Otherwise it makes me sign up with an entirely new account.

You've never paid for cable? Gone to a movie theater?

The ads are a mild annoyance. Typically :30-:45 seconds (at least on the shows I've watched in the past). Nothing like Hulu's 1-5 minutes nonsense.

How do the ads compared to the ones that are already on the WWE network?

Sounds like a deal especially if you love unrealistic cop shows that have a constant supply of female cops beating up men twice their size. 👍🤣

Any other drawback to asking for a "flex box"? Is it another way for comcast to suck you in to get more money?

It's comcast just give them time and they will figure out several ways to screw you.
