I have a few different Meross products and they're a great value overall. They all require the Meross app, no Tasmota, no Tuya. The app itself works fine and has a decent Android widget too.
Outdoor plug: as a plug, it's fine, but it's not truly an outdoor plug. Beyond the rubber plug covers, there's little that makes it suitable for outdoor use. Be sure to mount with the plugs facing downward to help keep moisture out.
Garage door opener: easy to install, wired directly to existing opener, works with a wider range of openers, great Alexa integration (can close, opening requires a spoken password). Location-based stuff is hit/miss but time-based automations are flawless.
Switches: zero issues, decent range, Alexa integration works perfectly (including routines), trim for max/min brightness (on the dimmer models)
I have been using the meross Smart Garage Door Opener for several years now. It's so reliable that I don't even take my regular garage opener with me anymore.

Ditto, I have been using a lot of other Meoss products like dimmers, switches, LED strip lights, color changing bulbs. Very happy with them. Most of their newer products are Apple Homekit compatible which is very nice

Not sure exactly which model of Chamberlain you're referring to, but I've been extremely disappointed with the Chamberlain wifi unit I have. It has definitely been north of a 10% failure rate, and I've had to reprogram it a number of times even though it gets the signal and does the beeping and whatnot. Not to mention cloud based, so when they decide to stop supporting it you're out of luck. Newer Meross like this one are cloud based natively as well, but seem to be potentially open to being freed if you're able to put the effort in. Haven't had the time to do so with the one I've got yet, so I can't speak to the Meross quality at this point, but with a direct plug to the actuator, I can't imagine it being worse.
I had frequent reliability issues with the chamberlain hub. Frequent enough that I basically stopped using it. I have since moved houses. My new house has 2 doors with 2 meross openers. They have never once failed to open on command. The door sensors are a little more finicky. Sometimes they say the door is open when it is closed, but the open/close command always works from the smart home app.

+1. Very happy with this.
This one works fine to open/close but I have few issues.
1) Does not work with google without PIN code, you have to say OK Google, open garage door, then yell out your pin code, or enter it. If you need that 2nd step, you might as well run the app and use it manually.
2) It has random notification delays, and sometimes ghost notification. "Garage Door is Open" at 3 AM startles me.. I run my wyze cams and check if it's really open.. And it's not..
Sometimes I get in, close the door, go to my bedroom, start changing, 10 minutes later "garage door is open".. Does anyone know what causes that?

I use the native app, if i was you I would start with that just to make sure it's not the hardware defect. If native app works then the issue is with the 3rd party software/ 3rd party integration.
