If you buy pre-built, which would probably cost you less than this, they almost always come with two joysticks. Only difference, this has 150 games and if you go the other route, usually it's 10k or more games. If you really need a trackball, I'm sure you can find one on Amazon or at BB. Reality, that's the only thing you're probably paying for anyway with this, as the ROMs are probably all available for free.
Have any links? Prebuilt shows more expensive, not less. Heck, just an average parts kit for 2 players and no trackball is about $40, another $45 or so for the enclosure, and you still have to buy the Pi.

This is a really really good deal. Pretty good parts, and lots of them. The people who are saying you can part this out on Amazon for less... they are just wrong. 24 buttons, 2 joysticks, bluetooth/wi-fi, processor faster than a pi3, regular updates, lots of legally licensed games, a trackball... works by itself, or you can use it as a pc controller...
If you want to play old arcade games, at $100 price point there is nothing else comparable on the market.

Does one have to utilize the ecosystem or built in games? Or can one just add the "good stuff" and never login?
It's sort of the opposite of what you'd expect--play the built in games offline forever, but if you add your own you have to connect to the mothership every few days or they are disabled.

Can this be modded by adding raspberry pi or something for marvel vs capcom 2?

Have built multiple standalone machines using PCs, Raspberry PIs, and now working on a MISTR. This is a solid unit, and at this price it's a steal.

I added a spinner (unfortunately, does not tie in to the board so it's not a wireless solution), which cost me another $35. The wireless aspect is fun since it's semi-portable (not something you want to leave out full time, but is easily taken out and put away).

Awesome deal. In for one. I dont even need it cause I have no friends to play with, but I got it "just in case". These things are timeless. Even in 10-20 years I can still play this with someone if I find a gaming partner.

When I was young and broke, I wished to have a lot of this to play with my friends.
Now that I can afford it, I wish to have lots of friends/time to play with one of this.

Same here Too bad you both don't live closer! lol

That is bad. If their server goes down, 'your' games won't work. That just made me pass on this. Thanks.Peace
