I have one of these and I am telling you it is a no brainer for 100. I bought mine for 150 and added a ton of games through awesome sauce. You can get almost any arcade game you want if you search for it. The hardware isn't top of the line but usable and very affordable for what it is. I recommend buying a plug to directly power the joystick and not use it wirelessly. The lag is noticeable on bluetooth.

Expanding it means you have to pay for more titles. Other option is to pay a $19/mo subscription service with only a handful of games. The Bring Your Own Games (BYOG) option is to use their Cloud service to play games from your Steam, Epic, Origin, etc... accounts for a cost of $1/hr or you have to configure the controller yourself so you can stream without paying.

So why I'm commenting is that, and of course this is my opinion, it's not worth $99 for what they're offering unless you're really into Burger Time and Tetris, because that's about as good as it gets unless you start forkin out more money to use this thing. If people still want to buy it, I'm certainly not trying to stop them.

You can't build an arcade stick with these parts for $99.. that's a fact regardless if you add (free) games or not..

Adding to the value is the # of different ways you can implement this in your at home gaming setup

This is actually pretty great. I'm not handy enough with precise woodworking to make something like this myself. The fact that you can drag this out in the middle of your living room, plop the controller in it, play on a big TV, and then actually put it away later is pretty awesome... a mini or full sized cabinet takes up quite a bit of room. I am considering ordering one. repped.

Thanks for adding something to consider. I can't say I know much about "Awesome Sauce", but don't you need to rollback the firmware on this to use that service? Just based on the game selection, it would certainly be a nice upgrade from what is offered with this thing out of the box or through the Atgames service.

What games that it comes with do you think make it worth it to buy the controller? Burger Time? Space Invaders? Tetris? What the other guy said made more sense. Using a third party service would be a reasonable option if you're going to blow $99 on this.

Getting the buttons, joysticks, trackball and joystick 'motherboard' alone will set you back over $100.
Next, you have the wireless component. Granted, the reviews for the wireless portion of this product have it being hit-or-miss, I will see. But wireless is a great feature for home use, and a big upgrade over your retropie config.
You don't care about the fit or finish it seems, but the system looks nice (and holds up well according to reviews), and is a lot nicer than budget retropie builds I've seen. In any case, the fit and finish is superior to the arcade1up people, who are its major competitor.
Finally the plug and play aspect is there. You can run it out of the box with 150 games. You can buy into the vendor's service and get access to more. Or, if you are a bit tech savvy, you can download a few thousand more games onto a usb stick following some instructions on youtube. Easy, Easy, Medium difficulty levels.
I know how hard it is to setup a retropiebuild... for a tech person it's not actually that hard!
... 90% of the time. But if you aren't a tech person the difficulty level *starts* at medium. And it can take a while. Time is precious.
Finally, you can just take this controller and plug it into your PC for a cheap 2-person arcade controller, which is what I may actually end up using this for. Even if I don't ever use it's built in CPU, it's still a good deal as an actual arcade controller for my emulators on my PC.

So... are you willing to consider thought-out arguments, or are you just trolling?

What you've shown for 100$ is a small system that supports zero players. You don't have a controller. If you buy two 8bitdo Pros (and you should), you're out another 100$ just to play.

Have not seen a PS1 emulator with sauce for this. Not sure it will get to that level.

Well said. I don't know why people keep complaining about the included games. It's like with the NES/SNES Classic consoles and the like -- as long as we can easily expand the selection using custom roms, who cares what it comes with? I've never heard of this system before last night when I bought it, but I quickly and easily found tons of how-to guides and the process looks insanely simple. Already downloaded the 4.5 Saucy package and have a new USB stick on order which should arrive a couple days before this does, so I'll have my stick prepped and ready to go with everything I could ever want. I might never even play any of the core games. While I'm not a fan of the need for it to stay connected on the puck to play addon games, as you said even the control deck is worth $100 or more in parts and build, making this a no brainer purchase even if you just need the controls and throw the puck away. It also looks, based on a video I saw, that everything inside the deck is just screwed in, meaning you could quickly and easily swap out the various components (buttons, etc.) to upgrade it even more.

You can connect it to a Windows machine as well, although it takes some extra software to get the keybindings correct.

Yes, I built out my stick with Sauce 4.5 yesterday and can say the scanlines actually look really nice and add to the look of the games.

Yes, essentially the same device, no spinners but extra buttons.. can even swap this device into the Gamer Ultimate
