Got a pic of that? Good idea
Mine was pretty complex - based off a Recognizer - but you could go very basic. It comes in 2 halves and may be high enough just assembling 1 if you wanted the storage. I thought the pic uploaded to my original post. Maybe this time? It shows up here for me...

Over on Archive.org is every "sauce" you can imagine and a TON that you've never heard of.

... of course, you should only play backups of games that you already own.

that's cool. some red paint or tape would really make it pop as a recognizer too.

Got my shipping notification last night. USPS and supposed to arrive between Monday and Wednesday.

Looking at a teardown on Youtube, I see that the inside control board has any empty slot for a spinner harness. I wonder if you could easily add a spinner to this board. Or maybe even a pinball plunger. I would assume that spinner is just a mouse input. So it's definitely something I might consider modding.

I kind of like the whole mini arcade I have setup in my basement. I modded 1 of my 1ups with a pi and I still buy more 1ups.

Another thing, it is worth getting the extended warranty. The power cable for the hockey puck disc started hissing after the 30 day warranty so that is a component that can fail on you.

Super street fighter not included? Literally THE game that needs this layout.
Everything's included. There's a default remap button where you just hit the keys in an order and remap. Here's from the Facebook Q&A on remapping:

(remap to original arcade control scheme):
Capcom VS series + Darkstalkers A, B, X, Y, Z, C
CPS2/CPS3 (Marvel Super Heroes/Street Fighter II & III) A, B, X, Y, Z, C
Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, 3U A, X, Z, C, Y, B
Street Fighter II 7 - Hyper Anniversary Edition A, B, Z, X, Y, C
Street Fighter the Movie follows the A, X, Y, B, Z, C
WWF WrestleMania X, Y, Z, A, C, B
X-Men Vs Street Fighter X, Y, Z, A, B, C

Good to hear. I assume this can be launched using the "AddOn" part in the menu?

With that said, to my knowledge based on just what I've read/watched/etc. since buying this last night, my understanding is that if you have a lot of games, manually browsing for the UCE files can be quite tedious using this method, hence one of the big benefits of CoinOpsX.

The fact that CoinOpsX requires it to phone home every 5 times is a bit annoying and, to be honest, concerning. Obviously wanting to use their hosted services will need Internet. But why do I need it to constantly check in to use a third party launcher? I don't see any legitimate need for that, and quite a lot of risks. I imagine that they could change their mind in the future and kill it off. Because, let's be honest, their business model definitely seems to be in the streaming/hosting arena, with these relatively low cost devices just being gateways to get customers. Their profit margin on a $500 cabinet or, now, $99 control deck is certainly very low. Especially since the hardware is, based on reviews, pretty decent. So it seems to me that what they really want is people to subscribe to pretty expensive online services. While we're being honest, $10-30/month, depending on package(s) selected, to stream 20+ year old games is just way too much. I can't see many people justifying that expense in the long term, especially when much easier DIY solutions are available. And, again based on what I read, the DIY stuff is remarkably easy. And kudos to them for making it that way -- right now. But what happens when not enough people subscribe, and they decide to cut off the DIY solution to try and boost profits? Why let people play thousands of games for free when they can force them to pay to play a few hundred?

Will they do that? I don't know. Could they do it? Absolutely. Would it make financial sense for them to? Probably.

Don't get me wrong, I bought this knowing that risk. But I figured that for $99, even just having the control deck makes it a good deal if I use it with something else. But I also want to use CoinOpsX, and would be unlikely to resort to the option you mentioned that can work offline indefinitely as a viable solution if it was all that remained.
With thousands of games, any form of browsing is tedious. The solution (prior to CoinOpsX) being introduced, was to put games on separate thumb drives based on system or style (fighting games, SNES, etc.) to get the collections manageable, and from there to put games into folders via windows based on the letters of the first name. There are a TON of SNES games, but not that many that start with A. Getting to the Addam's Family takes about 1.5 seconds. Getting to Astyanax takes maybe 6-7 seconds.

Honestly the "phone home" feature is pretty nice, doesn't require you to actually update firmware, and you can make your username and password something VERY easy to type with a joystick (something starting with QQWWEE perhaps) and the login itself can be done in 10 seconds and you get CoinopsX. If you login once a day or so, that's 10 seconds per week. Or if you REALLY hate logging in, or ten seconds a week isn't worth $25 of your time, just buy one of these.

Then login once and never again, since the cab thinks you're on ethernet.

Well that's somewhat good to know. I'll play around with it once mine comes in a couple days. On the bright side, I already have my USB stick primed and ready for CoinOpsX

Wait, what? If you are on wireless, it won't automatically stay logged in and 'synced' and requires you to manually login every few days? And it doesn't store your username/password so you need to continually type it in? That seems insane and horribly designed. In my case, I have wired ethernet where I would put it so it doesn't sound like it would be a problem for me, but for the majority of people using wireless that sounds like it will be very annoying and tedious.

YOU NEVER NEED TO LOG IN.

Please stop posting misinformation every page. Logging in is only for optional online play, optional remote PC rental, or the optional graphical interface called CoinopsX.

ALL GAMES WORK ALL THE TIME ON USB. NO LOGIN IS EVER REQUIRED. YOU DON'T NEED AN ACCOUNT.
The "AddOn" feature is built into the system, runs any working game from USB on any firmware, and will run whether you're on today's firmware or the stuff that came in the box, whether you're online now or you've never had Internet.

I've owned three AtGames systems since their earliest release and the level of BS in every thread about this product is staggering. Everyone posting false stuff based on hearsay from a moron's review, just stop already!
So if we use the usb sauce game collecton 4.5 with Coinopsx, do we have to login every few days? (since it's using the Coinopsx graphic interface?) or is what you said correct--- No login ever required?
Thanks for your important post!

I'll find out this week after I receive it and set it up the first time....So that Ethernet idea you mentioned is a possible fix if frequent logins bothers anyone?

It may not bother me all the time, since half the time I plan to just use this like a regular controller hooked up directly to pc.(like the video below)

From the research I did (well after after yoloing 2 of these), you can roll back to firmware ~4.20 (required for the "one sauce ultimate arcade edition" which is not the standard coinopsx front-end, but has console games and categories and some other fun things that have yet to be added to the main coinopsx).

This was the mod that the angry man who doesn't like this deal was referring to throughout his many posts when he was talking about rolling back the firmware. According to the main reddit thread in One Sauce, it appears that rolling the firmware back and forth is very simple, and rolling it back gets rid of the login requirement.

I ordered 2 when the deal was first posted. I may end up returning 1, but don't know yet. I will only VERY rarely need 4 players...

Even if you remove the whole "puck" from the equation, a dual joystick wireless fight stick with 16 buttons, a trackball, and the pinball buttons would be a deal for $99 I would think?

I mean... even a cheap single wireless fight stick with halfway decent quality will set you back at LEAST $50, right?

I think it's every five uses it has to phone home. In theory, the device should automatically connect to wifi, but some people seem to have an issue with being regularly disconnected.
