FWIW, I definitely recommend using a USB3 flash drive. While the files (roms, pictures, videos, etc.) are pretty small, there is a noticeable difference between USB2 and USB3, especially when scrolling through the COX menu.

I originally bought a 64GB Samsung USB3 drive. I liked it because it was highly rated, but ran into some issues with it getting unmounted randomly, requiring either a reboot or reinserting the drive, which got annoying. I figured it was probably some compatibility issue, so ended up buying a 128GB Sandisk USB2 drive instead. I don't seem to have the unmounting issue, but I noticed that there is a noticeable slowness in the COX menu, both when navigating it and then when selecting a game. On USB3, it was pretty responsive and smooth (not perfect, but usable). With USB2, it is much more jerky, takes longer to load and scroll, and about 3x as long to load a game, resulting in my TV losing input signal for a second or two.

I hadn't read anything about this, so wasn't sure if it would be an issue, but it clearly is. So for anyone trying to figure out what type of USB stick to buy/use, definitely go with 3.0. Also, Sandisk seems to be much better than Samsung in terms of steady connection.

I believe 4 player is possible to hook up with a usb hub attached to the puck.

TheAtari stick also looks like a good option [microcenter.com]for those who just need to hook up to a pc orrasberry pi [microcenter.com]. You might even be able to hook that up to the Legends puck for multiplayer games. So a lot of flexibility and choices for us.
It's important for us to know that this isn't the only device out there to choose from. But maybe this deal saves us around $50 to $100 vs other choices.

I wonder if there will be more of these types of devices made over the next many years.
I'd hate to buy too many of these if something better is around the corner.
update: in for a 2nd one for my brother.Smilie
update: and 10 minutes later, Sorry to say but this just went oos again for the 3rd time. Hopefully they continue coming back in stock for anyone who missed it.

If something better comes it's normally pretty easy to sell online locally.

Ordered on the 13th.. out for delivery finally today to my house. I ordered again today and estimated delivery date is for the 23rd. That's quick compared to a whole week.
I actually cancelled my order on the 18th as it should've been delivered on the 14th. The tracking was stuck on processing the whole time. Per customer help chat, they said my order went messing or they ran out of stock so they will start my refund. Weird thing, even after my cancellation and refund, my arcade stick just arrived at my house yesterday. I ordered a few things through Walmart and the tracking still says on the way despite being delivered in 2 days. I'm going to talk with chat to let them know my stick arrived to reverse the refund.

You can also order it with the gift option so they put it inside another box.

As compared to the Pandora's box 4S, it has better build quality, expandability, and better emulation.

All 3 of mine came and updated and applied coinops sauce with no issues.

Goes great with my Legends Ultimate.

Will be ordering the shim kits for the trackball soon.

If anyone has any questions shoot me messages.

Also add me on ArcadeNet: TheNAC

Ok, frustrated beyond belief here.

Do I have a faulty unit or am I doing something wrong?

I did a bunch of stuff with the USB drive in and things wouldn't pair, so I did a factory reset.

I did the pairing *first thing*, and all was good (P1, P2, and trackball). This was without the USB drive plugged in.

Then I did the firmware upgrade, and all of a sudden I can't use P2 or the trackball... P2 *says* it is connected (and LED is solid), but when I run the Health Check, nothing happens on the screen when I test P2. Ditto for the trackball test.

Help...?

Edit: When P2 and the trackball were working, I *may* have had the control panel hardwired to the puck... it was late last night. I am going to factory reset and try again unless someone has a better idea...

After the reset process I was able to run this BEAST 100% P1/P2

coinopsX v4.5 with 128GTB stick works excellent.

$99 is the best part of this

you have to unplug the usb cable from the control to the puck. you then have to reestablish the bluetooth connection on P1 and P2 after the firmware upgrade.
