1 - The emulation is not too good for numerous games I've tried via CoinOpsX. From sputtering sound to slow down, many of the games run poorly. This is especially true for SNES and CPS2 arcade games.
2 - The frontend CoinOpsX runs slow as well; navigating a large game list is pretty choppy. This can be mitigated by creating playlists for each system. Even then, it's a pain navigating multiple playlists because of the lag and slow response that CoinOpsX has. Also CoinOpsX starts up slow as well from the main Atgames App menu; I guess I have too many games. (I filled a 128GB stick that has a 4GB partition with at least 8 rom sets)
3 - The arcade stick is just too big and bulky to be used easily and comfortably. There's also a slight delay via Bluetooth. You can causally play via Bluetooth but if you are going for high scores or playing fighting games the controls are inadequate and frustrating to use.
4 - The system/puck doesn't turn off and is always on. Perhaps I'm being paranoid but I want to be able to turn off the system complexly when I'm done playing as I don't want it accessing the internet when it's not being used. I guess this issue can be alleviated by using a smart plug.
Overall I would say I'm disappointed; I was hoping emulation would be better and that the controls would be more responsive. The arcade stick hardware is probably worth $100 alone but it's just too massive and imprecise to be enjoyable for me.
The people utilizing a USB hub are those who are creating several instances of CoinOpsX for different gaming systems, etc.

One USB flash drive (preferably USB 3.0), plugged into the hockey puck will suffice. You will need to put two partitions on that flash drive. Youtube vid [youtube.com]
Doesnt take very long to do the partitions.
Copying the games to the second partition and using the AddonX tool throough windows to build the games takes a while.
128GB usb flash drive is best. But you can get away with 64gb if you keep the 1st partition at 4gb or less.

Then rotate the gate into a diamond position (push the center piece from the back and rotate). That's exactly how I modded the right stick.
I installed this last night (just 8 screws at the bottom to take it apart)
This worked like a charm for me. Really liking the gameplay with a 4 way joystick.
Thanks joeH1974 !

notice the video game hardware exception.
Rdog, thanks for the idea to take the unit apart and tinker with wires under the hood, if there are Bluetooth issues or buttons not working correctly.

Interesting critical review by guy767: there's way to make things better from what you mentioned, and you have to accept the limitations of arcade controllers in general. This controller was meant to be a great cheaper authentic size alternative to the $500 cabinets(for only $99). And the ability to mod controllers with Sanwa parts and connect it to a PC/other device instead of the puck is the big advantage here.

For those asking about a USB hub, it's recommended to get one so you can hook up the controller directly with least possible input latency/lag connected to the puck.
Useful tips eg.: USB to USB extension cord, USB hub, power switch, buy a stand

+Lots of YouTube vids how to setup Coinopsx and the one below was most people for me to get started. But plenty more videos to learn more about legends gamer pro, addonx, etc. And this entire thread is filled with useful posts. It's actually worth skimming through most of the pages.

An important Coinopsx playlist tip mentioned by FUBBhar: press X on P2 side to cycle through playlists, so all games are not mixed together, or you can view by genre or favorites lists. You can make more textfile lists and edit them with more games on your coinopsx flashdrive.
I mean is it even worth getting the warranty?
