I'm sitting on 300k points with the expectation of opening a sapphire reserve when my 48 months expire (it may have expired already bc I got in on the last month of the 100k points - was that Jan 2017?) and getting the 1.5x on travel.
It sounds like I may be better off taking the cash at 1x and not risking a points devaluation.
I applied from the branch and as mentioned by many above, there is a "Branch only promo" saying $95 waived for 1st year !
I also asked if I can use my wife's referral but the branch manager said "there is no provision in their system to use a referral code or link" unless I do it myself online (then I won't get the $95 waive off branch-only promo)!
So, either Promo or Referral, not both !
Also,
Last year, I tried to apply online and it got rejected instantly and when I called them they said I am still within 48 months wait period so the system will auto-reject my application. They asked me to apply after Oct-2020 (last year) and so I have been waiting since Oct for a good offer like this and applied yesterday.
So, if you get rejected, call them up for the exact date when you will become eligible again and set it in calendar as a reminder. Until then chill...lol
I cancelled it and it shows up as closed cancelled account. Not sure what is going on with Chase? Anyone know who to call?
TIA
Yap. It's one of those cool metal cards 😎
Totally worth a hundy per year.
But seriously I'm keeping mine it's a pretty good rewards card. I've also got a door dash pass with complimentary with mine (dunno if it's still offered) and 5X points in lyft which I use a lot for my work.

$300 travel credit can be used on gas and groceries until EOY so you should be able to take advantage of that full credit.
If you plan to do any travel then the 1.5 thru the travel portal would probably push me over the edge to go with CSR. Amex is a good offer but is only once per lifetime where the CSR can be churned every 4 years. So I would go with CSR first and then you could double dip on the Amex, but based on Chase 5/24 rule and not knowing where you are I would go with CSR first. When annual fee comes up next year I would cancel though and move points to freedom or other UR card until you or the wife gets the CSP or CSR again.
