If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Why does FRLTUL2LP get jack shit every time. I won't ever get a free line.
AcesnickI got the same plan as yours 2/100. Moved to 2/$120 with free netflix and kept the oneplus addon. The 2 lines I got is $10 off kickback. I have 2 paid lines free last year and that new free lines is the one I'm using. So basically I am paying 2/$100 due to 2 line $20 kickback and I still got oneplus addon (10gb tether and HD streaming) and now I get free netflix.

Since they giveaway free lines a lot, you better start collecting. You can switch to FRLTULF2 and collect up to 8 lines.
I could be wrong, but looking at the promos available on my FRLTUL2LP plan, it says you get $5 off for every line signed up for auto-pay. So my theory is this will forever be excluded from free add-a-line promos since they would effectively be giving you $5 off for every free line that they let you add.

The FRLTULF2 plan sounds pretty good. Can it actually be switched to still? I rarely qualify for the kickback, though, so it would effectively be a price increase of $20 a month. The Netlfix benefit would defray some of the cost, but I assume it's just the $8.99 standard definition version of Netlix? Don't think that will fly in my house.

I would call them and ask. I just posted a thread about that. Was not my case, I had 3 lines and went to 2 and the promo was canceled on my account. Now I'm paying for that "free" line. Don't do it.
Yeah I would expect that. I was more talking about cancelling altogether and moving all lines back to Visible. Tmo has been great so far so not sure if I'll do that especially now that I'll be getting 3rd line.

You need to checkout. It will adjust to the promotion after the SIM ships if you are eligible. Trust the process.

Oh no! This is the first time I don't see my SOC in the list. I have 1PLSALL. Any chance it's included and not in the list?

Would this be applicable for a smart watch with LTE?

I get full LTE.. not slow at all
I attempted to have T-mo remove the voice part of my line for tablet usage, and the said it can't be done. I also get super slow speeds if I put this in my wife's unlocked ATT iPad mini from a few years ago. Feels like 2G speeds

Right the older ones. The 12.9 pro has noted issues with throttling.

so this is new TMO will temporarily suspend this new SIM until phone is delivered and you need to activate this SIM in new device before it gets active again.

CSR said this is new as people were complaining that they get charge even phone is not delivered.

is this true?

can I activate phone with another sim and this new line sim with another phone and still works right?

Personally - already on 20% Hookup with 6-lines for $112 plus 4 iPhones on EIP.

Seriously considering adding two to make use of Costco's BYOD ending today and then add this free line tomorrow. And so, "2021 AAL On Us" begins!! Big Grin
How does this work?
