If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Hi Guys - After reading and going though almost all of the posts, I still can use some advice on where to buy a Port out number. Ebay has actively blocked sellers that are selling Port out numbers. Are NumberBarn and BuyPortNumbers the only sources left? Can Google Voice be used as a source of Port out numbers? Apparently, SD is also deleting posts with reference to such Port out number sites. Many thanks in advance and I continue to be grateful to this community.

The biggest advantage of doing the trade-in in a store is that they will assess the phone, and apply the instant trade-in credit. They will mail the phone and you don't have to deal with the trade-in once you leave the store.
Amazingly, received a message that my trade-in was complete. All promos on my account are now applied correctly. This is the fastest trade-in experience for me - all in one day.
Thanks a lot and repped.

This is what I get from T Force on Facebook for the free iPhone SE offer..

Great news, You do qualify for a free line using offer BGS46 Get a free voice line with qualifying plan. Your Magenta Voice plan qualifies. ^TymeishaW

Great news! I have promotion Get an iPhone SE On Us with New Line and Port-In. Purchase a new iPhone SE 2020 on EIP (must be associated with the new activation). ^TymeishaW

Ok 64gb it is!
Whichever works best for you! That is the correct promo code. When you order the device, the account will auto-enroll your iPhone SE to recieve the monthly credits. Be sure to sign the EIP agreement to begin shipment. ^TymeishaW

You can do it online with the promo code above.

What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to port and/or trade in for the iPhone SE / 11

OK, I have just got yet another free line which I don't know what to do with. $20 assist fee was waived but not the $10 sim. Oh well.

I used a freedompop sim from target and got a free number after activation. Freedompop works on AT&T network and can be used for port-in.

Big difference with port-in and trade-in. You get Iphone SE free with port-in and free line, while you get $830 off for Iphone 12 with free line, port-in, and trade-in.

So they had to move you to different SOC? I am on same SOC, and being told by three different reps on Twitter, that my plan max is 12, even though SOC ends with 2. I have many promos including kickbacks, free lines, hookup discount and One plus promos on most lines. Did you have all these promos and did they carry over correctly?
BTW- SE doesn't require trade-in, however you have to port-in non TM/GV number.
Thanks for heads up. I knew no trade-in. Just forgot lol.

I have kickback on 6 lines and One Plus promo as well so I understand your position. The rep thought it would be fine too... But then said the system physically stopped her from adding the 9th line by giving a max line reached message.

She tried to make it equivalently priced, but nothing on magenta or essentials will pull it off. Tell them that they are welcome to try!

Make sure it isn't just creditworthiness they're referencing with the 12 line thing. They will need to get an senior expert (since they're all experts? Lol) to make the change. Took about 10 minutes.

I will then go to Target and buy a FreedomPop SIM. Hopefully, FreedomPop would allow a Port out right away after activation. Some providers have a restriction on how long a line needs to be active before a Port out. Since, you seem to have done it, I feel assured. AppreciatedApplause

Fyi, I have simple choice plan. They said it has a limit of 5 total lines (which I'm currently at 5), so the code can only add more lines if I changed to new plan....so if you have 5 lines on a simple choice plan already, don't bother calling
They are a lot of simple choice plan, the SOC determine your eligibility for additional lines or not. Just check your SOC, and see what you can find on that SOC. And chat with tforce/tmobile. If you don't qualify, that suck.

My for instance is NAFUTT which is eligible (2gb per line, etc).

I don't think that you can do it online. You will need to call or go to the store.
