If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Thanks for heads up. I knew no trade-in. Just forgot lol.

I have kickback on 6 lines and One Plus promo as well so I understand your position. The rep thought it would be fine too... But then said the system physically stopped her from adding the 9th line by giving a max line reached message.

She tried to make it equivalently priced, but nothing on magenta or essentials will pull it off. Tell them that they are welcome to try!

Make sure it isn't just creditworthiness they're referencing with the 12 line thing. They will need to get an senior expert (since they're all experts? Lol) to make the change. Took about 10 minutes.
Great, do you see all promos still listed on the account with new SOC?

OK, I have just got yet another free line which I don't know what to do with. $20 assist fee was waived but not the $10 sim. Oh well.
I am curious as to why some people add lines they don't need if they are not money makers.

For example, stack another promo on the free line that will generate some revenue, like a free phone that can be flipped.

IMPORTANT! Jman100_JCMP's photo of SOC codes is missing a column of eligible SOC codes. Here is a photo I took of my Tmobile rep's screen today when I went into a store to see if I qualify for another free line.
I can't see your photo for some reason. Is 6FMSC4 on the list? It was in the list yesterday but disappeared from the Reddit list this morning

I will then go to Target and buy a FreedomPop SIM. Hopefully, FreedomPop would allow a Port out right away after activation. Some providers have a restriction on how long a line needs to be active before a Port out. Since, you seem to have done it, I feel assured. AppreciatedApplause
I don't know the time frame for restriction from freedompop. I had activated a couple of freedompop numbers in december. I used one of them for the port-in.

Try your luck with freedompop. H2O sim is also supposed to work. But, to be honest, I don't know if it needs to be active for a certain period of time.

I got free Iphone 12 with free line and trade in of XR. Once the phone arrives I was told to do the port in. The rep didn't need the number that I will be porting in.

Ditto. I am seeing 6FMSC4L on the Reddit list instead of 6FMSC4. Not sure if I qualify but hopefully somebody in this thread who has the same SOC can confirm.

Has anyone tried to combine Costco BYOD offer with this free line, and then later on tried to add trade-in and/or port-in promo with cus care?
I know it's a long shot but what is the risk if anything has tried?

That's exactly the question I am asking myself. I guess I am a sucker for free stuff.

At the same time, I have no interest in flipping things and make a few bucks here and there. Too much work for me.

Can someone please point me to the deal terms that says current free line promo can't be combined with Costco BYOD rebate. I've chatted with TForce and the representative mentioned there is no such limitation. Thank you.

Anyone here on Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines plan and maxed out at 12 lines have moved one line to MI and able to add this free line successfully? Does new free line showed up under applied Promotions and discounts with affecting any 4 free lines from 2020 and did you got free line congrats enrollment text?

Also, are they giving Magenta tablet plan or Tmobile ONE tablet plan? Does it show 12 voice lines and 1 MI line with all 4 free lines (2020) and 1 free line (2021)?

I really appreciate your stories/experiences.

If you are seeing promo 2020 Apple Activate P9, it will be updated to the correct one once you port in your number. Just confirmed this with T-Mobile.

I'm going to attempt this tomorrow. Going to do the new line activation and port at Costco and try to attach the iPhone SE to it after when I get home
