If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I originally had your All in Plan which was not eligible for free lines. I was able to find a rep (this took some work) who was willing to convert my plan over to the appropriate One plan while still retaining the One Plus Promo benefits.

Now I pay $80 a month for 6 lines (2 paid + 4 free).
Give me your plan detail

So you pay 4 lines for $66 on Magenta plan? IncludesTax and fees? Rep told me magenta plan only has 5G hot spot and not a good plan compared to T-Mobile one or one all in promo plan. Your plan also doesn't have HD streaming .
This is correct (plus free lines).
While it's true or only has limited hotspot, this is only with a T-Mobile phone (purchased from and locked to them). I have an unlocked phone not purchased from T-Mobile and some months use 10 or 15GB of hotspot at full speed. Same with streaming. I don't think it can detect streaming/usage. With another phone that I got from T-Mobile, it definitely detects it and I can see the difference in streaming and also I get warnings at 80% hotspot usage, 100%, etc.

For example, when I look at the summary page, some lines it shows pictures and model of the phone. Those are always the ones it can detect hotspot usage on. The ones that say "unknown phone", I can use as much as I want.

YMMV.

In the past, when I port out my # 9 line, my SOC the same. So 7,8 or 9 Lines I was paying the same price every month.

There is an option for Netflix Standard ($5) and Netflix Premium ($9).
Hotspot options: 15GB hotspot for $10/mo and 40GB hotspot for $15/mo.

Or less ... if you remember this post from a member who had 3 paid lines, a 50% and 5 Free Lines for $41 ( Before Kickbacks LOL !!!)
I'm fairly well versed on TMo 1, not so much Magenta. When switching from Magenta 1.o (MAGENTA2) to 2.o is the code MGNTA2...is there any better soc to ask for?

All current offers carried over without issue.

My primary phone is an unlocked Now 10+ I got Dec 2019. No issues with using tons of visit data. I also have 2 other unlocked Android phones, same thing. The other 6 lines it recognizes the phones, even an unlocked iPhone.

Anyone have any idea on the best place to buy a phone for trade in purposes for the iphone 12 $830 trade in credit. Also what is the best place to get port in numbers. Some have suggested Gvoice works but I would rather not take the risk of rejection.

finally looking to do this at Costco since people are reporting that works (eventhough Wiki notes Costco does not stack).

Nobody wants to deal with that . Especially iPhone users who love the imessage app. Not to mention iPhone users need to use Google Voice app to dial out.
Google voice is not as seamless as it should be even on the Android side.

It was a temporary solution for me to be able to keep my number but move to a better plan (on a different account). This was specific to a situation.

Another option is port out to a cheap non T-Mobile prepaid (such as h2o) and come back in 3 months

20% insider hookup discount and free/discounted lines added after 6/2/2019 will carry over w/o issue. So out of luck for any free lines before 6/2/2019. Kickback doesn't transfer over either. I have 12 lines on my Magenta 2.0 plan and its SOC code is MGNTA9 for the 9 to 12 line plan.

More details on what does and does not carry over: https://tmo.report/2021/02/t-mobi...tch-promo/

None of these listings let me complete the checkout unfortunately. Looks like Ebay is blocking them.
