If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Did that require a trade in or port in?
I didn't have to port or trade in. It was a 2 year credit back on the account every month. I just paid taxes. I got the line free and just paid for the phone taxes. Every month they will credit the cost of the phone for 2 years.

Anyone know how long it'll take for this free line level discount to be moved to account level? I see the free line under my promo -> Service promos, but not under account yet

How to transfer a Google Voice number:Note: YMMV - No risk no fun

You can check if your number is accepted to be transferred into T-Mobile:
https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...our-number

This does NOT mean it qualifies for a phone promotion.

Google Voice changed its user interface some time ago, you may have to get into the legacy/classic view first.

In general, this can be a great option to later-on get a better (nicer) number to replace the randomly assigned one or get a desired area code, for example.

But if you want use it for a phone promo, you have been warned:

I miss when we used to get a number for around $3 on eBay. Now, it's so hard to get one, and that's why I used the number I got with a $30 HSN Tracfone LG phone . I was going to unlock the phone after a year, but I kissed it goodbye. Now, I am stuck with an useless Tracfone LG w/o any service.
reactivate it for a while with a new number, you may need another port-in in the future... ;-)

Does anyone know how long will the $830 credit for iPhone 12 will last? I don't have an eligible phone yet, but trying to buy one to trade. Thanks!
Once you buy ask them for the IMEI number right away, that's all you need to do the trade-in.

Was in the store taking care of some stuff already so we added a line to our account. Was charged $10 for the sim card and $20 for "assisted support." is that the activation fee everyone pays or is it something else?
If you go to have this done in store they always charge those fees. However you can usually get CS to credit it back to your account in form of account credit. Point out to them the website is offering free sim and no charge if you get the right rep they will credit you back. call, use social media, text via phone. FYI you can get a free sim from Apple store or just add a line a Costco no charges there either, do not do this in store they always charge fees.

I hope this did not create a cluster&^*. Rep changed the SOC code without asking nor confirming and now I don't see any promo lines. Got a few texts that said promotion has ended and then the same number saying I have been enrolled. Ordered a new phone on the new line with port-in and trade in. The temp number hasn't been assigned yet it seems. I provided my own SIM.

I will give it 24/48hours and do some breathing exercises before getting a heart attack... ;-) And a drink. Puh, if this works this all be the last one, too much time involved with this.
