I have a A71 5g phone from Tmobile that I signed up for free with 24 month credits last year. I am not using the device on TMobile now though I have the line on which I bought the device active. Can I trade in this device instead of trying to find a new device?
Yes, but you will first need to pay off the balance of the EIP agreement.

So say you have $400 balance due on the agreement. You will need to pay all $400 at once. That frees up the device for trade. You will still receive the monthly credits on your account same as usual for the remainder of the original agreement.

Hi- So I know this has probably been answered fifteen times in this thread, but it's so huge I was hoping someone could just answer.

I have currently 2 paid lines and 1 free. My SOC is listed as eligible (TM1TI2).

1) Can I just add a line online in my account and it will pop up as free? Or do I need to call a CSR or go to a store?
2) I want to do the iPhone trade in promo. Will that automagically recognize the new line I've added to trigger the promo?
3) I know I also need to port in a number to et that promo. Can I do steps 1, 2, and 3 in any order? Or is there a specific sequence to trigger the appropriate promos?
4) A few pages back there was discussion of a $150 promo, maybe through Costco? What was that, and is it still available?
5) The number I was going to port was from the Moxee free hotspot I got last month from AT&T. Think that'll work?

Thank you, and sorry I'm such a newbie at this.

I messaged Tforce and they confirrmed that the Visible number I had was eligible. I know this does not help such that you could do it before buying the number but atleast helpful for me to know that when I go in store for my trade in this will not be an issue.
I think you misunderstood. I am actually defending Visible's position or at least pointing out Visible's situation is no different than any other MVNOs,

How to transfer a Google Voice number:Note: YMMV - No risk no fun

You can check if your number is accepted to be transferred into T-Mobile:
https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...our-number

This does NOT mean it qualifies for a phone promotion.

Google Voice changed its user interface some time ago, you may have to get into the legacy/classic view first.

In general, this can be a great option to later-on get a better (nicer) number to replace the randomly assigned one or get a desired area code, for example.

But if you want use it for a phone promo, you have been warned:
So was told via chat and in-store, my Google Voice number won't work with the iPhone SE promotion, and I would first have to transfer it to a prepaid card, then to T-Mobile. Is this correct, and the way everyone else is doing it?

Have you considered selling your S20FE and doing the Costco $720 back on bogo? I sold my S20FE and XS Max and more than covered the end cost of buying 2 x S21+
The S21+ is on sale for $749x2 +TX tax came to $1620. $720 MC rebate card + $100 New line Costco shop card. . .leaves me at $800 in the end and less than what my 2 sold phones netted. Even if you just had the S20FE to sell, you'd still be at $400 or less. And cost would be lower with regular S20's. . .which for me would be $600 after tax and rebates.
You were able to get the free line with the Costco deal?

I think they want you to transfer the Google Number to a Prepaid carrier that is not T-Mobile related and then port the number to T-Mobile. That will satisfy the Port In requirement part of the iPhone 12 deal.

Well, like someone mentioned above, the "port-in" promo says "port-in a non-T-Mo number" so you need to port-in from either ATT or Verizon. All those voip providers (including GV) are not eligible !!!
T-Mo is basically paying you extra for "leaving" ATT or Verizon, not because they love you... ;-)
