Not really. Monolith and Monoprice are not really the same thing as far as quality. Monoprice created the Monolith brand to rid itself of its low-quality budget brand image (although, the Monolith products still have great value). I have a Monolith headphone amp and it's phenomenal. I've heard their subwoofers are some of the best in class as well.

As the poster above me said, it still does. These speakers were tested by THX to have low enough distortion (among other things) to receive certification. It's not something that's easy to pass either and is quite rigorous. Do some research and you'll see.

You do your shopping solely based on brand recognition? Wow, that's pretty dumb. And besides, you haven't even demoed these so how are you going to knock them if you haven't even heard them?
Yeah, and these are ~$1400/pair so what the hell do you have to spend for a good pair of speakers in your opinion? Is it B&W 802s for 14 grand and nothing less for you or what? Not everyone is looking for summit-fi speakers that cost as much as a used car.
I've got KEFs, SVS and Monolith. I am using a 10" monolith sub in an appropriately sized theater room and it hits like a damn truck and digs deep. I did a ton of research prior to buying, if the New SVS subs that released a couple weeks ago were out when I bought my Monolith a couple years ago, I would have bought those BUT they aren't better enough to justify replacing the Monolith. Monolith speakers are extremely competitive for performance and value in their class. They have to do conform to THX standards and build quality is fantastic.
