Yes, but I don't think it's that great when dealing with standard tools like these.
Can you explain what you mean by this.

You meant impact driver is not going to do any good with changing your car tires. Right idea, just a mistype I'm sure.
Thanks, I edited my original statement to Driver. I was going back and forth between wrench and driver too much...

I am looking at Lithium batteries for quick charging and ease of storing/carrying the batteries . Also, 18v as upgrade over 12v.
If you were to use a Ridgid battery to power a power wheels I would definitely NOT DO THIS (for liability purposes, I have to tell you NOT TO DO THIS)

Get the $18 DC motor speed controller switch:
RioRand 7-70V PWM DC Motor Speed Controller Switch 30A
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Then the $20 Ridgid battery adaptor to 10 AWG wire:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V1KDKZ6/?coliid=ICL3U7J33P6DT&colid=YWQ7HESJ73GU&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_d... [amazon.com]
or here:
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Adapter-Ridgid-li-ion-Connector/dp/B088K1GTH3/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&key... [amazon.com]

That way you could dial down the 18v power to closer to 12v so you don't overheat the power wheels ESC and motor. I'm sure that stuff will run a few minutes on 18v, but sooner or later it will overheat and fry. I would dial it down to 12, or maybe 14v for a little "boost"

I would also recommend getting the larger 9ah battery to run a power wheels on. Or one could wire 2 of the adapters up in parallel. So (2) 4.0ah 18 v batteries in parallel would be 8.0ah 18v

Ultimately I would go the route of ZeeDuck and get the SLA battery and fischer price plug. It is just easier.

I believe he was saying that there is not a great big market for reselling these tools on FB market place.

One of the biggest selling points of Ridgid tools is that you get a (LSA) lifetime warranty if you register the tool with in 90 days of purchase. That kind of kills the resell value of these tools, because you likely won't get the LSA when buying the tools used. You could if you state that you are selling them used, ad will provide the receipt so they can register it with in 90 days of the receipt date...

Are you sure the motor will be OK with 18V? I do agree it would be nice to use drill batteries rather than having yet another battery to deal with.

More or less what legobrains said. I wasn't thinking so much about the LSA but just that these are kind of the starter tools of any Ridgid 18V set. I'm sure some buyers might get the 4.0Ah battery and charger set then buy the specific bare tool they want. However, more likely they start out like me, buying this exact set. Yes, if I loose one of these I would be in the market for a bare tool. But more likely is someone with a set like this will want to add a tool that isn't included in this kit (saw, sander, light etc). Basically everyone who has a set of compatible batteries probably already has a drill and impact driver and possibly ones better than these. I'm sure there is a buyer but I don't think you will get much for these as raw tools.

Yes, PowerWheels are fine up to 18-20v, They are not too sensitive with voltage.

No. You can only do that with buy-this-get-that-free types of deals and then only if you can add each item to the cart individually so it will break the sale price down per item.

It looks to be very similar. I liked my old DeWalt drill. I can't say if it's any better and it doesn't offer the Ridgid life time warranty (which is easy to screw up such that you are excluded). At $150 I might pay a bit more for something with bigger batteries and brushless motors or go down market for something closer to $100. I think I paid $120 for this Ridgid set when I bought it.

I guess that it is easy to ignore the requirement that you register within 90 days. But if that's the case, you've got no one to blame but yourself.

It's actually a bit harder. I submitted my forms within 90 days and got a processing email. I figured that was it. Then I got on line after the 90 days and saw that I didn't have the life time warranty coverage. Basically they sent an email that was ambiguous. In one place it said I would be contacted if there were any issues. In a different place it said I needed to check my status on line. When I did it showed something was missing from my application. I ended up having to plead with Ridgid to honor the full warranty as they initially felt I hadn't submitted everything correctly.

There is a reason why there are a lot of horror stories about the warranty registration. It's easy to get something wrong and they make it look like everything is going fine. Keep checking until they confirm you have it.

There is a dashboard at the registration site that makes it really easy to check the status of your registration: https://register.ridgidpower.com/dashboard

Where they also offer chat, a phone number, and email option to quickly fix any registration issues. As long as you submit your registration on time and check to see that it successfully went through, there should be no "horror stories".
