To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

For Simple Choice plan like ours (Simple Choice Family Unlimited Talk & Text, code: "SCFUTT6"), it was already Unlimited data; the announcement doesn't say Unlimited High-Speed Data.
This too is what in wondering. I absolutely never want to give up my unlimited simple choice family plan for anything but if this preserves it, im all in.

I was thinking of trading in an 11 to get the 12 Pro Max.
Not that I need it, of course.

T-mobile had a subset of unlimited that was deprioritized after a certain amount of data use to sub 1 mbps levels. That's why they want to make sure their accounts with high speed data keeps it.

so if we do online; there is not $30 charge ? also; I did NOT have good experience with the Store Employees and if they make an error; it is very hard to correct it...
Online there is also a $20 support charge and $10 if you need a SIM for a new line, but you have a 50% chance of getting it waived or reimbursed in the form of an account credit if you are nice and ask friendly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't not.

If I do the iPhone 12 order online, how long do I have to ship out my iPhone 11s? 30 days from the date I place the order? 30 days from the date I receive the phone? Something else?
30 days from the phone ship date. And technically that may only expire the prepaid USPS label. if you are short in time send it in via Priority just make sure to out the RMA# on the label and include it inside as well.

It's amazing how much junk people want to trade it. This is not going to turn ewaste into a sparkling new phone. It should not be so difficult.

1) The phone needs to be functional. Depending on the phone that can vary, but the functions of the phone need to be working. If the phone comes with Touch ID then the fingerprint sensor needs to be functional. If it has a camera it needs to be able to take pictures. Fair condition at a minimum, recently the wording clearly stated "good" condition. That's what the phone really is, not what you think it is. Just because the guy who sold it to you on the bay said it was good condition does not make it good condition. Be realistic.
2) It can have scratches, but not have broken glass and/or parts of the frame be broken.
3) It needs to turn on. It's a phone. One would need to be able to make a phone call if one had the correct SIM card and an active plan. That's at least the idea.
4) Usually (in the past) the phone did not need to be carrier unlocked. Not sure about this time.
5) No water damage, fried electronics, burned in screens, kaputt batteries
6) You want something from them. So make sure you clean up the phone nicely before sending it in, log out of any accounts (iCloud lock) etc., do a fresh reset. Make sure it arrives with at least 50% battery charge.

What would you do if your job is to inspect these and someone sends you a dead battery phone with the remnants from their sandwich attached to the device? Disinfect it for 10 minutes and then wait for an hour to charge it or deny it for phone not working? Spend the extra 10 minutes to send in a "presentable" package that looks like you got your s#&@ together and it will likely be a smooth trade in if it fulfills the requirements.

If you are trying to score a $280 phone does it really make a difference if you spend $5 or $15 on the trade in? Would it not be worth the upgrade even if you bought one for $30 or even $50? Sure, it's slick deals, but ask around in your circle, I am sure someone has something that fits in a drawer. And if you have a lot of them, now is the time to turn them into money. Sell them. There will never be a better time.

12 for an 11 maybe. Why not upgrade if you can. Sure, you will likely get a 30 month EIP "contract", but you also get new warranty and a brand new phone for a quick switch. Last year when they offered the "trade in the 7 or 8 for an SE2 that was a no-brainer from my point of view, especially since I was on the 7.

You could also sell the 11 and hope another one of the "get $800 for iPhone 8 or XR and up deals, if they ever come back. Then you'd have to source probably an 8+ or better XR/XS since they seem to be the new lowest category premium for trade in.

You'd have to see how much you could sell it for and if that's worth the hassle or rather do the switch trade.

I would recommend otherwise. Unlike A32 deal, this iPhone trade-in is only from 4/18-5/1. There is a chance that the trade-in list would change again to include a couple of models below 11 to get a 12. If they are offering a significant upfront one time credit for a 11 series trade in, that would make sense but it's still bill credits over two years. Instead of base $830, if this had been "11 Pro for a 12 Pro on us" or "11 Pro Max for a 12 Pro Max on us", that would have been slightly better.

Is this going to be the same for existing customers and don't require a new line? If so, I can upgrade the phone to 12 on my free line and trade-in my 11, as such deals for upgrades are rare.

When did you upgrade from 7? Last year in October, around the time when 12 series was released, there was trade-in for 7 or 6S ($800 off) to get a 11 Pro 64GB for $100 or 11 Pro Max 64GB for $200 - both with 24-month bill credits. SE2 was good, but given how quick the phone lost value since it's release, the $100/$200 spend was a better option to go to 11 Pro series. Based on how things are going, 12 Mini could have the same fate as SE2 with price cuts.

When 13 comes, I expect 11 to still be there as a full trade-in value unless someone really wants the 12 now. Even then, if someone has a 11 Pro series then they can keep them instead of switching.

My $0.02!

Guys, i just remember something. Last year there was a free line promotion that can stack with the oneplus 7+ $350 off promo. AS many people on this forum did, I added the free line via phone rep, and bought the phone in tmobile store. i clearly remember i didn't pay $20 fee plus $10 sim fee (they mail me the new sim, which is equivalent to already having a sim), i only paid tax OTD

Are things not the same now? Is the $30 charge something new after that promotion happened last year?

have you guys had any horror stories with mailing in your trade ins?
Wondering if its better just to do the in-store tradein as they take it right there, but you still pay $20 support fee (as opposed to going to costco to do it). store rep told me that as long as they have the phone physically stock then they'll take the trade in on the spot.

Personally, I prefer in-store trade-in just for the peace of mind that it's completed on the spot, especially for large value credits. You will actually pay $30 ($10 for SIM and $20 for CS) which you save in Costco but they don't do trade-in deals. Especially for those who have minor blemishes that you are unsure, highly recommend to do in-store.

Have done 5 such trade-ins in a Corporate Store, 4 when I opened the account last year and one last month for iPhone 12 (w/ 8+ trade in). I had to pay the extra fee on last year's and on the latest purchase. But store messed up port-in credit for trade-in on two lines last year and got $40 refunded by phone support after fixing the issue. The total bill credits value is $4330 (2 iPhone 11 Pro, 2 iPhone 11 Pro Max, 1 iPhone 12) for 5-lines combined. So, paying $110 (after $40 credit) was worth it.

Also, doing it in-store will start your bill credits as early as the next bill cycle instead of waiting for credits to show up after your trade-in device is received / inspected, which could be at least 1-2 bill cycles.

Call store ahead for stock confirmation and recommend going to a Corporate Store, if available.
