Most likely they played you.
The promo is clear. ANY phone (regardless of age), as long as turn on, not wet, and no screen damage.

TM don't expect the trade in phones to be pristine. It's expected to get old phones!

Quote from drzk :
A Tuesday the 20th experience:

I went into a store to trade my old S1 in physically, being worried about a mail-in rejection that would leave me stuck with full price on the A32. Guy in the store rejected it for wear and tear scratches on the screen that would just *barely* catch a fingernail. I went to another store, front guy said ok, back room guy said ok, and they took it . They started the swap process and then determined it would still require me to mail it in from home. Keep in mind, doing this in-store adds a $20 human assistance fee.

So I stopped them, got my phone back, and went through the process at home. I'm still concerned about some hyper technical rejection of the phone for whatever reason, but I'm a long time (18 years) T-Mo'er and can usually get some slack when I complain hard enough. The mail-in accept/reject occurs after the new phone arrives. Which means it'll be in use and then have some reject notice muck everything up.

Seems overall like a kind of mail-in rebate, sucker you in thing. We'll see.
Like the other guys said, they are just playing you...!
Don't worry about the mail in rejection, unless the trade-in phone has completely cracked screen, they accept just fine. In this case (crappy flip phones) they are even less serious since they are not even worth as paperweights...lol
Don't worry, mail-in it. I have mailed in at least 10 devices over last 2 years (even NOT matching the IMEI on the Assurant slip !) and never faced any issue even ONCE! They accept the different device just fine and update the fair value etc details in their system.
Of course the delay is painful because they take like 1.5 to 2 months to actually update the device receipt in the system (even though the USPS tracking shows delivered in 8/10 days) but that's just how they work due to tons of trade-in devices mailed in everyday...;-)

Thank you for your reply.

So if I were to trade in 4, I would get $120 at Costco? Sorry dumb math question lol
Once you completed the transactions with Costco. The rep will print out a form and instructions how to register the $30 Costco card online. So yes, you should get 4 x $30 Costco card. But I read from an earlier post saying Costco is out of the A32 from their warehouse so not sure if they are still doing the trade-in.

Yes,
the only issue with Costco kiosk is, usually those folks are real dumb when it comes to Direct Order i.e. ordering online promos ! To some extend it's not their mistake since they are generic folks (handle everything like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T etc) and not dedicated T-Mo so no wonder they are always confused about carrier specific promo especially online ones...lol

The phone I want to trade in is a Palm Treo Pro from Sprint. There is no Palm option to choose online. How do I do the process?

I see. May I ask what is R-SIM? tia

did you get the 7 from Total wireless?
Yes, iPhone 7 and XR purchased from Total Wireless. Here's the Slickdeals thread on those phones.

R-SIM is an interposer SIM that'll effectively let you unlock locked iPhone by taking advantage of some activation bug. It stopped working for a while 'cause Apple patched something but I learned they work again from the Total Wireless thread linked above. I think some version of "R-SIM 15", "R-SIM 16" or "Gevey Pro" are the current ones to get but I'm still not sure after spending time googling info. No guarantee the unlock survives the next IOS release.

yeah I just need to find a good staff. thx for the advise. My last Cost co TM SD was the best. Got 4, sold 2 and kept 2 of the 11 , basically was free after it is said and done, NOT EIP.

Now I am trading that free 11 for the 12/12pro

Can you order more than one phone at a time online to combine the shipping cost? Will that help at all? Like ordering two phones in one order for a total of $6.99 shipping?

I feel dumb. I scanned the wiki before asking the question and even did a search in the thread for "palm" which gave me three results. Thank you

I have a flip phone that I am unable to do a factory reset. I think the SIM card slot is damaged. Phone does turn on and charge, would that be an issue mailing it in?

How long would I need to wait after paying off an EIP before doing this? I have the Goggle Pixel 4a EIP for half off at christmas and the free iPhone SE from March EIP I want to pay off so I can do this on 4 of my lines.
