To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

I can take my old Moto flip phone to any store (and there are many) that recycles old electronics. The A32 is middling at best, and many will stop being used and become e-waste in a year or two. This is all about profits, not the environment.

Anyway, TMo will begin to shut down their 2G/3G/UMTS services October 1 thru the end of 2022, whether customers have a 4G / 5G phone or not.
You're right. It's all about that 2 year "no-contract" contract lock in. I was trying to give them props for an environment thing but I'm being nice. They must have a marketing department that decided that "hey, don't give it to them for free straight up without a tradein; if we have them trade ANY phone, it will make the A32 sound more enticing and worth it." People are over analyzing this. If you're not a long term T-Mob customer or don't plan on being one, this offer is not for you. If you must use flagship phone, this offer is not for you either. But I have been with T-Mob for 17 years and I have been ecstatic with their service. If they're giving me free phones for trading in obsolete flip phones, I am even more thankful.

This deal isn't for everyone, the debates are ridiculous. I have a giant stash of phones I use for Beermoney, some with bloated batteries. I've been with Tmo for 20 years, not moving any time soon. So for me it's all gravy to take a 5 year old $10 Android phone (literally what I paid half a decade ago) with a bloated battery and use it to get a free A32. The phone is pretty good, and although it's budget it's not like a Moto 6 level of crap. It has multiple cameras, shoots 4k video, and is reasonably fast (not a speed demon). You're all thinking this isn't a great phone, compared to an S21. I have an S20 as my daily driver, but if it goes down or gets lost I have a decent backup for a few days before a replacement arrives. It's totally fine.

Forgive me as I am naive. I have T-mobile with one line. I can easily trade in any phone but i'm curious - do I need to add a new line or do I just keep the phone as a backup? What are the costs if I do this deal as a backup phone?

Don't mean to over analyze this. You guys are right. Free is free. Everyone has a different reason for getting it. I just blabbing why I'm not likely to get it. My family members are flagship phone users and I already have spares better than the A32. Got a lot of junk old phones but I'm not adding another spare unless I have a need for it. I'm pretty sure there will more deals. Like to save a spot for an iPhone 13 EIP later this year for a family member

Did you try go over your limit to see if they're still throttling your data? I'm on a 2gb SC plan and my account has no indication that I have any unlimited data add-on or hotspot but I tested my data past 2gb and it's not being throttled. I'm guessing that they've added it to all accounts, but it's not visible, at least not yet.

The only visible change I see is in the data option, I no longer see a 6gb (+$15/mo) or 10gb (+$30/mo) options. Instead I see my 2gb (free) option and an Unlimited data + 14gb hotspot (+$45/mo) option.

Another thing to note is after I went past my 2gb limit, I no longer received a text from tmobile saying I used up my data, like I use to.
I also only see 2gb (free) option and an Unlimited data + 14gb hotspot (+$45/mo) option. Our billing cycle ended yesterday and yes, my wife's numbers are around 4gb. She did NOT notice any slowing down this time though and there was no sms from TMo telling her that she exceeded her limit. Our account still shows 2gb plan and usage displays "used ??gb out of 2gb". I think de-facto they did upgrade us to unlimited, but didn't advertise it. Could it be that it's harder for them to throttle our speed on 5G? hmm.. Anyway, I'm not going to complain!

I think that answers the question if it's even worth getting it. If you have elders or kids or anyone who's a minimum user who don't need flagship models or you're never leaving T-mobile any time soon then yes.

I have a spare Samsung 8 and LG V35 that will run circles around the A32 with exception of the 5G capability
If you had a spare Galaxy S8 why didn't you jump on the Free S21 promotion?

Last week I literally traded in a Galaxy S8 for a S21.

Bought the S8 off eBay. It had Pokemon Go burned heavily into the screen but was otherwise flawless.

Tmobile guy took it.

As far as the A32 5G, I got a free one for my father in law. My takes:

Pros:
-Screen is pretty good and gets pretty bright (I own a S21)
-90 Hz screen is very fluid with very little hiccup
-Processor is plenty fast having 2x big cores and 6x little cores. OneUI has come a long way in being more efficient.
-Battery life is great even with 5G. My FIL came the next night and was at 75% still. 2 day battery phone.

Cons:
-Viewing angles aren't the greatest. They're not atrocious like TN or VA panels, but not great like OLED or even IPS. I believe the display is PLS tech.
-Vibration motor sucks. It's noisy loud but weak in feel.

It's funny that people crap on this phone over the 270 PPI.

But Pentile OLED screens in the iPhone 12 Pro Max reduces the 458 PPI to 305 PPI in terms of subpixels.

So this really has similar PPI to an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I believe the S9 was the minimum to get the full $800 tradein credit. I did do that on my line. I traded in my old S9 for the S21.

My niece was using her S8 and didn't need one, I told her she can get the S21 for half but she didn't want to pay for it. I ended up trading in a friend's S10e for the S21+; I paid $200 for that friend's S10e but I got $800 for the tradein. My niece is now using the new S21+, so the S8 is a spare, which I plan to do a trade in one day if it's good. The rest of my family members are iPhone X to iPhone 11 users

Nope, it definitely was Galaxy S8 the minimum.

I'm in Sprint so maybe they had a different deal. I have the receipt that says $33/mo and I'm getting $33/mo credit.

It also allowed a Pixel 3 trade-in, but the one I bought off a refurb seller on eBay for $120 showed up in their system as a leaseback device (meaning it was leased and awaiting to be given back). Filed a refund on that quick.

Nope S8 is only $400 trade in value for the S21. Minimum S9 for full $800 tradein value

I spent a ton of time on the thread. I'm with T-Mobile so if you're with Sprint maybe it's better
