If you register your Korg keyboard, keyboard rack module or digital piano online within 90 days of purchase, Korg will extend your Korg manufacturer's warranty for an extra year for free if purchased from a Korg authorized dealer. A copy of the registration confirmation email and a legible copy of the product's sales receipt from the authorized dealer are both required for extended warranty service. To register your Korg product, please click http://i.korg.com/Register

A legible copy of the item's original itemized sales receipt from a Korg authorized dealer must be presented to the Korg authorized service center prior to the request for warranty repair. Documentation such as packing lists, credit card statements, or the registration confirmation email does not replace the original itemized sales receipt as valid proof of purchase or verification for warranty repairs.

Tuned, probably. If he hasn't had it tuned in years, that means it's going to need a large pitch raise, this means you need several successive tunings to get a stable sound, and it won't last nearly as long as a regular tuning. Each tuning is $150. And because it's probably never been serviced, it will need a full regulation (lubrication, key action adjustment), that's $500. It's not practical unless he's serious about piano. Acoustic pianos need 2 tunings a year so that's $300 a year. Then there's the fact that if the owner never bothered with humidity control during the winter months, the tuning block may be dried out or the bridge may be dried out, this happens alot in forced air furnace homes, so.... yea, people just don't know, or they don't care. Wood is very delicate especially since the piano is under so much mechanical tension.

Piano salesmen don't care, they have to eat, so they'll sell to anyone, but as a piano enthusiast, I always tell people unless you're serious and ok with the high upkeep cost of acoustic piano, just get a digital.

Hmmmm.... not liking that they show it with the stand then. Seems like bait. Nowhere does it say it doesn't come with the stand that's pictured. I ordered one for me. Ordering another for my nieces. Now I might have to go $599 for the stand and three pedals. Damn it.
The pictures are a bit misleading, the 'What's in the Box' lists:

Good deal, it seems like anything with a brand name, 88 keys, and weighted keys under $500 is a pretty good price. We're trying to get my 10-year-old something that will make him more willing to practice (ie convenient) so he doesn't have to use the old, mistuned console piano in my WFH office Wink
You could always have the mistuned piano tuned, no?

Amongst other synthesizers I have this digital piano. This is by far the best you're going to get in the price range even at full retail price so if you want a digital piano hop on this deal now
I have a Korg and within a year or so the keys started getting very clacky, like the tops were slightly coming up from their base, causing a very noticeable clackiness when playing. Have you had this problem? I also play the piano pretty hard at times. I just want to make sure it's not an issue with other Korgs as well. Thanks.

Yep, but it's still in an inconvenient location until we can find somewhere better for it. Portability is a huge asset.

Had to return this due to white noise even when volume is turned all the way down to zero, which I believe is not a defect but just the way this is. The bottom of this digital piano look like waffles so that was also not very pleasing aesthetically but who really looks underneath their pianos often. The sound quality seemed decent (I'm not an expert at music for heed my warning) and the keys were weighted just like you would expect from a digital piano.
I had bought the Korg B2 (when on sale), Yamaha P-125, and the Roland FP-30X, and so far the Roland is my favorite for their PHA4 mechanics, their proprietary Apps and Bluetooth connectivity, and overall quality, albeit it is slightly more expensive than the former by roughly $400 and $100, respectively.
You could say that the better the quality the higher the price like laptops and computers, but just like laptops and computers if you know exactly what you are looking for, you know exactly what you are getting and what to expect for that extra $100-$400. I wish I could have tried them at a physical store, but there are none near where I live so I had to order them online. Fortunately for me the stores I bought them from accepted my returns and I am left happily with my favorite digital piano.

I've been eyeing the roland fp-30x for months now. Do you know how low the price goes on sale, and what stores I should watch for sales?

The DGX670 also just came out. Great speakers, and it has so much more fun features vs stale old fp30x, which is just an fp30+x. The only X that really got upgraded was the FP90X. The rest were kind of just rebadges. laugh out loud

Thanks. Where do you get the DGX670 for lowest? I'm willing to wait several months if, say, a certain store puts it on sale for $150 off every 6 months. Something like that.

yamaha is all the rage and hard to find right now, due to production/shipping constraints, and apparently a fire at an audio chip plant in japan.

If you have to get something now, I think fp30x is a good choice. I would like to add caution as if you intended to practice ALOT, Fp30x's PHA4 is not a good action choice, because it's really heavy. For extended practice sessions, Kawai's RHC / RHC2 , Yamaha's GHS, This korg's NW, are more suitable.

Digital. Probably will self learn (youtube) for the time being because of covid. Have no piano knowledge. Looking for something that doesn't break the bank (under 1k).
