Saw 2 in stock in my area in NY, so I went to the store and they weren't on display. Went up to register and it seemed like the supervisor knew exactly the model and size I was looking for, and went to the back and retrieved it for me.

My guess is an employee is trying to keep it for themselves... but I left one for them

Lol, I'm a teacher and felt like I had to justify not giving 5 dollars by telling the cashier that I was an educator. I'm trying to build a pc from cheap or free parts so this was a great deal for me!
Stop telling people about something you did nice for someone

Beware, I had the 256GB "Pro" version. It was a POS. Reviews were awful but decided to take a risk at $50 (Cheap back then). Died in 3 months. Warranty replacement is next to impossible because it's not even listed in HP's system. The internals are made by a Chinese outsourced company. I had to contact a 3rd party company that sourced it.

But, for this price, keep it like a SD card, but nothing important because it can and will die FAST!

Perfect for a boot drive on a bunch of devices. I've got a few servers where the boot drive is only using < 8gb. I've got some 256GB's in there since it's the smallest I could find at the time from a major manufacturer.

If I was in the market at the time, I'd have gotten several of these. But not worth keeping them around as spares.
That's what x25-e's are for, nothing beats reliability like old SLC.

How is this $51.79 regular price? I bought this about two years ago on eBay for $18 and it gave a new life and super speed to old desktop. It has been working without any issue so far. It is a steal at $6.50.

I wanna say I grabbed a few of these at Staples for $10.00 each about a year ago. I used them in a couple older Chromebooks and they're still kickin just fine.

Yea, but for drives that old, ebay's a real crapshoot. Sometimes you get a drive in good condition. Other times "condition" only refers to physical attributes.

Haha I used to work at K-Mart and did the same s*it lol. If they asked me if said item in question was in stock, my answer was obviously no and that it must have been an inventory/computer error. Maybe that contributed to their implosion 🤣

Well, sometimes the sticker is marred but I've never seen one below 99% life left because slc's write longevity is just that extreme.
