Seriously though, anything wooden shouldn't go through the dishwasher very often or it will dry and crack eventually from the wet/heat, wet/heat cycles. Anything steel shouldn't be left wet (if you were thinking of letting it air dry) so put simply "not dishwasher safe".
Like anything else, Chinese made can be made perfect and even better than other origin, they have the tech and people to do that, they just choose not to. It is more profitable to use 99% cheaper material and sell it for 75% discount of the real thing. Not bashing on China particularly, this is called "globalization"

Back to the topic, I ordered these a week ago based on the other thread and the
knives are pretty sharp out of the box. Haven't used them yet though.
Also, the wood handles need to be oiled with mineral oil for longer life/avoid cracking.
