Amazon sells the same thing, but this is about $5 less than Amazon, as Amazon (according to 3Camel never lowers the price from about $33). It's also a Top Seller on B&H, as well.
EDIT --- After posting this, looks like Amazon may have reduced the price to the same price as B&H. So, here's the
Amazon Link to the same deal. [amazon.com]

Just picked up 12 of the Ladda AAs (three 4-packs) for less than $21 at the Ikea in Kansas City. Now that is a deal!
I have not heard that (but I do see that wording on their website now). I know they announced they are phasing out their alkaline batteries last fall.
downside is less total recharge cycles, 500 vs 200+
and faster self discharge.

It's common to switch to cheaper manufacturer and Ikea doesn't have a "brand" name on rechargeable batteries to protect.

That really cannot be in this case. The batteries I just purchased say they are made in Japan, and there is only one factory in Japan that makes rechargeable AA batteries.
But my brother's friend's second cousin said he heard from his doctor's sister that the latest Ikea batteries are 10 times than any others -- but I don't have a link. LOL
What's probably happening is Ikea changing suppliers.
