Best Chromebook money can buy if you don't care about battery life.

Edit: if you are not heavy mobile.

I am returning the one i purchased about 2 weeks ago for 539 + Tax, and just bought this for 479.40 + Tax = 516.55.
Thanks OP.

By the way, whoever has this Chromebook, do you have any issues with the screen brightness that weirdly adjust itself? sometimes it gets so bright when i haven't even touched anything.
and it might be the ChromeOS issue, but when I close the lid, it was supposed to go to the Sleepmode, then I can wake it up with my finger print, however, it just restarts itself and I can't find a setting related to this issue. It sometimes happens when the laptop has enough battery though.

Please chime in if you know about the issues I mentioned here.

just FYI. you can never ever stream 4K contents on this Chromebook other than the Youtube's 2160P contents. Netflix won't work at 4k which is a huge flaw for me. I've even tried the Edge browser by using Linux. but didn't get it to work. so I am still not sure what I can use this Chromebook for. Well I don't use this for any office work so. Just for a media consumption, this isn't the one. I'd rather use my Tab S7+ which can play 1080P HDR+ contents from Netflix as a Netflix Certified device.

I just finished chatting with customer service, and they said they will refund the difference between this and the order I placed 2 weeks ago on the last Slickdeal, no problem! I am supposed to be receiving an email from the dept that handles refunds, so fingers crossed.

This is a beautiful machine, runs great with every Android and Linux app I've tried so far, even with sideloaded apps. Well worth it at this price! Thanks OP!

the crashing while in sleep mode is a somewhat common chromeos bug. i heard not having youtube or other video streaming apps open before putting it to sleep helps prevent this.

Rolled the dice and bought this. I'm a little worried about the battery life, but was in the market for a chromebook and this price is lower than a C434 or C436.

What is the battery life on it? I have a Lenovo chromebook from Costco and I like it except screen resolution. Could consider this but it this battery life comment is giving me pause

Really bad, you pay a steep price for the thinness and 4K OLED display. Where a regular chromebook will get you 8-10 hours (or more), this will get you only 4 hours in real world usage.

That said I am still thinking of picking one up- I mean the display is just the best for media consumption.

I bought this last time around... Returned it due to battery life. Roughly 5ish hours. Beautiful screen and build. This would have been a great deal if the battery lasted longer. She pretty hot too. I didn't measure the temp but it was much hotter than any other laptop/Chromebooks I've ever used. If you're not mobile and battery life isn't a deal breaker you won't be disappointed. Nice machine if a high end Chromebook is what you're looking for. I wasn't sure about the red either but after using it the red is really nice.

At this size for media, I mean for videos, it is difficult for me to tell between 1080p and 4k contents.

Text is definitely sharp on this screen.

Don't think so, I still have it in my cart at the price in this post.

If it was OOS, it would autoremove from cart when I refresh the page.

I get 4-6hrs, good enough for casual browsing for the day. And it charges up real quick.
