Hopefully there are some 128gb pixel 3xl's that will hit these sales.

My 3xl has been a champ for 2.5 years. Wouldn't mind replacing it with a new one.
Slightly better photos, you've never used a pixel....the best photos you've ever shot tryb
I've had mine since it was released and I think this might be the first time I haven't had an itch to upgrade to a new phone. Absolutely no complaints.

Does it not support fast charging? Buying a fast charger for my was the greatest thing ever
Oh yes the fast charger is great but it doesn't work in the car.

You can get a fast charger for your "lighter" plug in

Any SD'ers able to parse the description "made for Verizon but is unlocked and compatible w/other carriers", also infers ability to unlock the bootloader?
I took the plunge but will cancel order or return if the bootloader is NOT unlockable.

Might be of interest: I ordered & recvd a used Woot Pixel 3 XL 128. IMEI began w/35 (Verizon) and unable to unlock.
Other than my interest in an unlocked phone... this used (2yo phone per blacklist checkers) was in better cosmetic shape than anticipated. (a single 3/8" scratch on screen. Back was fine)
Battery "seems" good per a simple app-test.

I wouldn't mind getting a new one just to replace the battery.

What about a battery replacement? These <$19 batteries have a (legitimately) higher mAh capacity than the OEM.

I have the Pixel 2xl and I feel the same way. First time ever that I wasn't eyeballing the new phones a year later. But the battery is aging, and I use it heavily. I just moved out of state and I have a year of commuting left before I retire. Waze and Audible kill my battery on that long drive. I charge while driving, but it just slows the drain. Waze is such a battery killer.

I don't really need a new phone, but it wouldn't hurt. The Pixel 3 has a great camera , which is important to me. I'm an avid one bag traveler and I only use my phone for photos, but I have to admit the Moto battery is appealing too. UGH. decisions.
Depends on your needs. For simple functionality like messaging/email/browsing/GPS Navigation you don't need all the bells and whistles that these uppper mid-level to flagship phones provide. The higher end Snapdragon CPU/GPU chips in the Pixels are nice, but you'll pay the price in battery drain (not to mention cost). Couple that with a high resolution screen (which I don't think is necessary on a smallish phone screen) your battery drain will be even higher. The fact that this Pixel doesn't come with a SD card slot or a headphone port bothers me as well. At the time, the G7 Power was the "best bang for the buck" when it was released (which was about two years ago) and has all the channels necessary for good T-Mobile reception (including band 71).

At this point due to OS bottlenecks and app memory consumption I do think its important to go with a phone that has at least 3GB in RAM.

If things like gaming and high quality photos are very important to you then screen resolutions, CPU/GPU chips and camera lenses come into play. For a vast majority of phone users I don't think this is a big priority.

Also as someone else mentioned you can get much faster battery charging in your car using smart or fast chargers like QC 4 or PD. At this point the limitation is more in the power that your phone is capable in receiving vs. the power the charge is capable of providing. Wireless charging is okay but doesn't come close to the speed a USB corded charger will provide.

Battery replacement in these pixel phones is not a simple process:

It's amazing, all my friends and FAM ask me to take photos on my pixel over their iPhones every time. Camera and the no bloatware are the two best things about the pixel line.

Man been waiting for a pixel with wireless charging deal for awhile. Unfortunately so long that this thing only has a few months (Oct 2021) of guaranteed updates left on it.

Thanks—just ordered one. I'm assuming this can be used as a wifi-only game phone...SIM or carrier activation not required? Looking to replace my daughter's Moto X Pure (battery life 30 minutes) so a bonus that this is (not?) pink.

Bootloader is locked. All phones sold by Verizon, or Verizon branded have locked bootloader. And Verizon refuses to unlock them as well. The whole point is ridiculous since Pixels purchased elsewhere work just fine on Verizon, but Verizon has always been a bit "special".

So yes this phone stopped getting OS updated last fall, and will stop getting security updates this fall. And the bootloader is locked so you can't do custom ROMs, either.

I don't mind keeping this phone for another 2-3 years as it still runs fast and still can go toe-to-toe with the best cameras on the market today.

I was planning on changing the battery later this year, but if it's only $100 more to get a brand new one, I'll hop on that like a fat kid on cake!

Speaking of kids, I would probably then just give my old one to one of my kids.

Same here. Other then the battery being trash after these years, I still absolutely love everything about this model.

I'm hoping google gets back to it with the pixel 6 as the 4 and 5 were dissapointing.
