I bought one of these a few years ago and I just don't find the utility for it. Now before the Apple faithful come screaming at me as if I had just pushed their mother down a flight of stairs, I found the same thing with the stylus from the galaxy note. If you're an artist or a doodler, then you probably love these things, but for me, I never got the utility from it to justify the cost.

To each his own, of course, but I've found it to be especially useful for note taking and highlighting/annotating PDFs and other documents. Especially useful for studying. The iPad is nice as-is, but if you have the extra money to buy the Apple Pen to go with it, it's so much easier to do tasks like that.

I am guessing it is because Steve Jobs thought needing to use a stylus was a joke and was against it. The Pencil is basically a glorified stylus. This coming from someone who has one (and a Note 9).
