I have one of these that is at least 30yrs old { yes, really). It is pretty much indestructible. About every 10 yrs I hit the joints with some lubricant. It stays in better shape than I do.
Do you have good insurance?
Harbor Freight also has a clone:

(Note: Apologies to those who saw the previous version of this. Harbor Freight doesn't issue their 20% Coupons anymore)

I've had one hanging on my garage wall for many years.

It's great to clamp items for painting, to use as an extra set of hands, and for holding up the other end of the board.

I also use it annually to hold the giant electric roaster for cooking the Thanksgiving turkey!

After years of abuse, it's scratched, covered with many colors of paint, has oodles of saw nicks and drill holes in it, but it still works great.

A much younger version of myself bought this at Sears during the Carter administration. Every week (on payday) I would go there and buy a wrench, or screwdriver set, or an item like this to build a tool collection. I have no idea what it cost me, but I remember being excited to unbox and assemble it. This thing was the highest of high-tech back in the day. I'm glad to see they're still around.

So it's 33"h and the top is 5 inches square? What?????????
yes it is, it's a vise. You can keep both together or move it and use it as a vise.

I also fail to see the benefit of having this... It's not even big enough to fit a table saw on.
Why not just get a bigger portable workbench that would at least be big enough to sit a table saw?
Seems like a waste to me unless you're doing something specific.

You can spread the boards apart to increase the usable space on top. Spread the wood, set saw across.

Personally I would skip it unless you know what you are going to use it for already. The upside of these is that they are relatively portable and they have built-in clamping ability. If you don't need the portability then a large, wooden workbench is superior in every way - especially if you have a good set of clamps already.
Thanks! Yes, the table has two built-in clamps on the side as well. I was shocked to see it tossed out because its in pretty darn good shape.

Just got done assembling this. The assembly instructions are pretty bad. Make sure you watch the B+D assembly video. Even then, it's still kinda derpy at points because the guy doing the video needs to be zoomed in to see the orientation of the part he is using.

100% same quality as the Harbor Freight version which when they have the proper deal coupon you can get it from them for 10$. This is not a great deal at all and still the same old cheap chinese stuff.

Crazy question but since its SD, haha

Think this could be a makeshift desk (laptop, etc) for a Van build? I am intrigued by the small dimensions of this!

You could, but you would probably want some other top to place on it considering you're going to have utility holds in this. Considering it's portable, you could just take it with you when you're in your van and use it for projects at home when you're not driving around and needing a table. However, if I were putting a table in a van, I would think something like a TV tray would work much better.

That's a great point about the TV tray - could get solid wood that breaks down in a small form factor when traveling. This is why i like SD! Thank you Smilie

Sure, I hope it works out for you. Smilie I seriously think it would work better for you. Of course you could modify this but it would be more work. Best wishes.

The Harbor Freight one has some type of press board instead of hardwood. It claims to hold 260lbs yet my 175lb husband sat on it and it broke, pinning him between the boards. Pay a little more to get a better product in this case. (We have a lot of things from Harbor Freight so not knocking them at all!) And he actually has one of these B & D ones from backt in the 90s and he just vreplaced the boards last year so
the HF one is a little lighter (which I liked about it) and it looks like the BD is more stable. The HF was like an Ikea project to put together and this video was very useful in getting it put together properly so that it works good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE25AeclF3w

Ty. 1) Does this version have the screwdriver slots at the bottom?
2) Does this version fold down better than the HF version? (I watched the guy's HF video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X...UKM&t=234s ], and HF doesn't fold down all the way, the wood sticks up at an angle).
