This device is carrier-unlocked, meaning a SIM card and service plan must be purchased separately. The tool below will show you expected compatibility with networks around the world. This should be used as reference and does not guarantee compatibility.

I have this phone, and I like it because of the headphone jack.
They got a pretty nice, quad dac in here, with amplification to drive some pretty powerful headphones that other devices or bluetooth wouldn't be able to.

Dual screen is a nice extra, I do use it much more than I expected to - it's nice to have completely separate screens for multitasking and watching videos.

Finally, the battery is incredible. It's advertised to have a 4000mah battery, but the most interesting thing was that when I first bought it (over a year ago), my accubattery app showed a 4500mah battery estimate. Basically, the battery was larger than advertised, and it definitely showed in longevity. Even today, an entire year later, I'm at 4200mah effective capacity, and can go 2 days of pretty regular use without even thinking about recharging.

Downsides? Not much for this phone alone - it does everything I need, from music, to apps, to games, to just browsing the web.

THAT SAID: there's one thing to keep in mind about this phone - these days you can get the LG V60 thinq, basically the successor to this phone, with the dual screen accessory, for around $400. The deals for the V60 may be fewer and further between, but I've seen it at costco for $400 with the dual screen, and it took all of my willpower to not buy it then and there. Wait a bit, and you'll have a chance to get what's basically an upgrade in every way over the G8x, for around the same price. (this was the deal btw https://slickdeals.net/f/14502593-costco-t-mobile-lg-v60-5g-dual-screen-smartphone-no-new-line-required-399-99?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1)
Don't blame LG (entirely) - it's the carriers. This is one of their latest scams to locking ~your~ phone to their, one network, to prevent portability, and using their paying customers like bargaining chips, so they can make potentially make money from, or have leverage with, other carriers over roaming/tower agreements. I know I'm generalizing here, but VoLTE licensing and compatibility is ridiculous. Can you imagine, building a communication protocol/tool for the ~global phone networks~, in this day and age, that's proprietary and incompatible with everyone else? When something doesn't add up, follow the money.

You're like a year behind, you might wanna sit down for this, like the guy said if you don't mind used, with patience and effort you can score a deal like this person on 4/27/21, paid $182, for phone & screen.

If you can't wait, take your pick starts at $95, refurbs for $140, oh and a refurb screen $120.

Ive had the LG V20, V30 and V40. Theyre great phones, if you bought them used. I'd never buy one new though, got my previous LG's like 6-8 months after release date and saved ~60%+ buying them pre-owned, but in mint condition. No OEM box or charger but thats part of the reason for the savings.. still have all 3 phones, theyre part of my home security system, they're cameras kick ass

Yup, got an V35 thin Q. Much better Mic than the Pixel 3a XL I have. Hook up a lav mic to the v35, such crisp clear audio, and good levels. The Pixel, sounds like an on camera mic!

That said, they did say that they will be keeping the phones updated for three years... https://www.pcmag.com/news/lg-pro...er-exiting

LG was terrible at updating their phones before the announcement. 3 years my ass.

Yes, I do agree with your comment. LG's reputation with me (not speaking to the rest of the world) is not good.

LG can say anything they want like a politician, but what they did and have done do not confide my trust.

Mine works fine on T-Mobile. Also wireless charging is useful with case.

So I heard the two screens are difference screens so off color and brightness
This is somewhat true. You can do some picture modifications on the main screen, but nothing I've found on the dual screen except brightness. So if you do that, they won't match perfectly. Anyway, it's not very far off, and it's not terribly noticeable unless you're doing the "wide screen" mode which runs the app across both screens. In practice, I personally rarely use this mode.

Oh no Frown
Their phones have been my fave since V10. Great specs and very reasonable prices (couple months after the launch) and less bloatware than Samsung.

I used LG phones for years. Got the LG G8x (not the duel screen one) and was not impressed.
The finger print scanner was awful and the phone just didn't perform like I'd expect a new phone to perform....slow and clunky.

Traded in my G8x for a Samsung and it's a night and day difference. It doesn't surprise me they are exiting the phone arena.
