12 amps not 15amps. Amazon's listing is incorrect. Not a bad deal though.

Edit:
Apparently I'm sort of incorrect. Old ones were 12amps but Kasa has a new version of the HS103 that is 15amps. So hopefully that's what you receive.

Going even further down that rabbit hole I'm seeing suggestions that the HS103 may have even been as low as 10amps at one time.

That being said I just received my EP10s from Amazon and they are 15amps and smaller than both my HS103s and HS105s. So I'll be sticking with those from now on.

Either way you slice it I really like my Kasa plugs and still think this is a good deal.
And the 4-pack is $24.99

Telling things to turn on and off was wierd and added up to alot of work when I tried these things. Give me a good remote controll anyday. This voice controll shit has always been VERY overrated.....and unnecessary.

LoL you sound like my wife when I first introduce her to Google home. She think it's overrated and just rather do things the old way with remote. Once she see me start using it for everything TV, Garage, Ceiling fan, fish tank, lights) , she started to give it a chance. Now that we have baby and toddler, she love turning on and off devices hand free. We use Google home with Voice training and it works 99% of the time. Also you can toggle any of the plug using the app if you don't want to use voice.

Also you can setup group command. I can. just say turn off living room, the tv, lights, ceiling fan and anything else you want will all turn off at the same time if they are on.

It's the norm now been that way like 10 years out of control. They know most consumers defend the practice or do not care being lied to. The ones that do care most vent fast then move on. Companies found out long ago gov and most consumers do not care. The gov used to protect us from most of this stuff but back then most consumers voted with wallet and put preasure on gov to stop companies doing illegal things and yes false advertising is illegal. Companies in wild west not much can stop them now the consumer sure wont neither...

These are great for running schedule grow lights during the winter.

They could be use to turn on and off christmad tree as well as set schedule for when to turn on tree. To ensure you don't waste power you can set a permanent power off time and if you happen to forget to turn off the tree manually, the schedule will turn it off.

If you have mini hub speaker like nest mini or amazon echo and have then control your lights you can put these on night light and room lights. Set routine so that when you say "lets go to sleep" it will turn off room light and turn on night light.

If you have kids have the echo/mini wish each of the kids good night. In the case of my kids I have it wish each of my kid stuff animals goodnight, bear, bunny, deer, dog, dino, elephant, turtle, etc. They love it.
I am to fat and obese i use them for lamps and fans. Now only if i can get them to cook and clean i finally hit 1k lbs of great love. Reminds me need to order more butter to help me out of bed.

Kasa seems to have multiple versions of the HS103 and as such their website is a little confusing. But you seem to be right if you get the new version.

"Control from Anywhere
With the Kasa Smart app you can turn lite-duty appliances, up to 12 AMPs, on and off from anywhere. Turn on your bedside lamp while in the living room, set your plug to Away Mode to randomly turn on and off while you're away, even set schedules around your day.

Working Status
Input Voltage
100 - 120VAC 60Hz

Output Voltage
• 100 - 120VAC

Maximum Load
15 Amps Resistive @ 120VAC*

*for The New Version

Hopefully then those ordering get the new version.

Might be worth looking into still. Seems kasa has a new version of the HS103 that is 15amps. I just bought the EP10, they were 26.99 - 10% clipped Amazon coupon for 4 of them and those are definitely 15amps and a bit smaller.

I use the RF version of these switches and control them with a Raspberry Pi. I find them handy for automation and power reduction.

When the Pi detects an internet outage it sends a signal to turn off power to my modem and router, then turns the modem on, waits 90 seconds, then turns the router on. It's been years since I've had to do a manual reset.

On Sundays a script turns on a wall switch in the closet for 4 hours, during which time my servers mount external hard drives and run backups.

When no motion sensors in the house fire for 30 minutes the Pi turns off the hot-running IR light on my RO system with a wall switch. When motion sensors pick up activity it switches back on.
Appreciate if you could share the link or model number for RF version.

These are what I use with Broadlink RMPro via Amazon/Google voice commands: https://smile.amazon.com/Etekcity...B00DQELHBS
I pair them with 1 foot power extension cables to alleviate the amount of space taken up: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CEJW0WQ

Thanks! I have Aukey version of these switches. For some reason, Aukey version is not strong enough to support my Denon AV receiver. I have to find a way to automate those.
I am looking for a switch/surge that can be integrated with harmony eilte remote.

Way cool. Thanks for the tip. I got those too just now. I like these better than the few Amazon smart plugs. Those were going dumb on me after a while. Very annoying when they don't just work.

What's your favorite way to use these?

I just can't come up with a great use case for myself, but maybe I'm thinking too small. I cannot think of anything that I plug in that would benefit from voice control or a timer other than christmas lights. I have plenty of smart lights, and I find those useful.
i travel for work alot, so I had few will turn on lights after sunset then turn off after 11pm to pretend i am home. also i had 1 at my parents house connected to neighbors' wifi that control power for modem and router. so if the internet need reset at my parents house, they will just call me and i will flip on and off for them on my phone. laugh out loud

I have a couple of these and they have a niche use.

I have a bunch of Philips Hue color bulbs in my apartment. I enjoy the ability to customize the color to match my preferred light color, which is that of an incandescent.

The problem is that the color and ambient Hue bulbs max out at a rather low level of lumens, 800, and are not bright enough to light some of my larger rooms.

It's difficult to find high lumen smart bulbs with a good color output. So I've been using these Kasa plugs to connect lamps with higher lumen lightbulbs, including with dumb incandescent 100w lightbulbs. It works perfectly.

They're integrated with Alexa and you can set these plugs to be categorized as Lightbulbs, so you can say "Alexa, turn on the lights," and Alexa will turn these plugs off, which is convenient and makes dumb bulbs smart.
