So, if you have a friend or neighbor that is in the hunt for a good DVR you can each take advantage. I have this DVR. Got it on a slick deal about nine months ago. Very happy with it so far.

No, Wyze cameras as configured are not enough.
Various reason for that.
Are Wyze cameras useful?, of course they are. But, any WiFi cloud based camera has issues of reliability and quality of image capture which makes them poor to be the only solution you deploy.
Is there an overview of why you don't think people should buy these? Every time you ominously post this I find no information other that these aren't perfect systems. Is there a specific thread about Reolink that has the information that would actually help?
Edit: Further, is there an alternative that you think is better in the same sort of price range that offers the features that these do, even taking into account the inability for the systems to always hit their target functionality?

( basically Reolink are such over priced affordable products, that Reolink is constantly posting discount codes to sell their kits - and these discount codes deals are constantly posted here .. )
So in effect, Reolink deals are constantly posted here, which really are not deals - they are in effect the "normal"
price. ( it is a part of the Reolink business strategy to promote their products this way )
I'd prefer to have a good reference here on SDs to point people to, however we really do not have a good place for that.

in terms of alternates - I've covered that discussion numerous times, and frankly the global supply chain is super jacked up right now. Even Wyze is increasing their prices.

Edit: For someone like me that just wants cameras to replace their Q-See stuff that no longer is being supported, is this stuff fine? I picked up one of their 4K systems just because it seemed simple enough and the app seems to work fine. I'm personally not looking to get anything incredible. Just want to see if it's UPS or AT&T at the door so I know if I want to answer it.

if they are Dahua OEM you can get them to work with various VMS systems like Blue Iris or even with a Dahua OEM NVR.
( post the Amcrest camera model numbers, I can look up the specs .. in general the Amcrest cameras are better than the Reolink if you want compatibility and image quality, of course depends on the model so ymmv .. )

That Qsee camera is a decent IP PoE Dahua OEM camera, with a few setting changes ( IP address, port, user / password ) you can get it to work with:
Dahua OEM NVRs ( including Amcrest NVRs )
Blue Iris VMS software on a PC
Dahua OEM VMS software on a PC ( look for SmartPSS )
Mile Stone systems VMS, .. etc..
So if the cameras still works you can still use them.
I'd add a couple of newer better cameras to your setup ( see if Amcrest has any 1/1.8" sensor models available, or Dahua OEM from Andy at ipcamtalk ).. if you go Blue Iris you can also look for Hikvision models, look for the colorvu line ..larger sensors also.

If I remember, I'll post pictures of my feed via the phone app at 6 am and 6pm.

Hi i know you have covered this numerous times before and i know that you recommend 1.8 sensor cameras …. Right now which 8 camera system 4k with nvr you prefer thats best value for price in the market that has 1.8 sensor
