Regarding Chase Offers:

• They are targeted (sent to specific targeted recipients; not available to all customers). Check your Chase credit card(s) and checking account(s) to see if you received this offer.
• You must ACCEPT the offer in your account BEFORE making the purchase, and
• You must make the purchase using the SAME credit card or checking account in which the offer was received.

Thanks for adding the fine print. I added YMMV since it's targetted.

Got it on my Freedom Unlimited.

Last time I got it, friend of mine got it too, and we went to the store together, each picked out a $35+ item, and had the store associate split each purchase across both our cards to take advantage of the offer. So we both got something $35+ that's more valuable, than two $17.50 items.

Here's what I'm wondering, since ATT can split the transaction into two parts, I'm wondering if they could also try splitting it into three...

What if I pick out a ~$40 item, have the associate first charge $17.50 to my Chase card with the offer(triggering first transaction), then charge $1 to different card, and then charge the remaining balance on my Chase card again(triggering second transaction)?

Would that work? Anyone with any experience? I'm just wondering if this shows up as two separate transactions when it posts to Chase...

In the past, I split it in two mostly and use the same card for both transactions without any issues.
