In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

So let's say I'll sign the 2-year payment plan for iPhone 12 for $799, which means I'll have to pay $33.3/month. With this promo, T-mobile will give me back $830 in bill credit during those 2 years. So, in the end, the phone is free, right?

But yes, you are correct.
They give you a one time credit for what they value your trade in to be. So let's go with an iPhone 8. They will value it for $80 which is given to you as a one time bill credit, the remainder $750 will be divided into 24 months. So you will pay about $3.50 a month for 24 months...only because they gave you that one time $80 bill credit.
I Hope I explained it well

The email with my order states this:
Once your new iPhone 12 ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Samsung SM-A716U Galaxy A71 5G 128GB Black - T-Mobile in good condition to receive a one‑time bill credit of $155.00.
Where I can see that the $830 off deal is applied?

That's how it works, but it's a bit more complicated.
iPhone 12 is $829. You trade in iPhone 8 which they give you $79 statement credit after the trade-in gets approved. They also pay you the remaining balance through monthly credit of $31.25 over 24 months (total $750).
The amount of onetime statement credit and monthly credit vary depending on the device you trade-in but you will get $830 in total regardless.

Despite the $20 fee for in store trade-in, i think it is safest to do it in-store for such cases.
