Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I would caution you against doing that. Even if the T-mobile reps don't check it and accept your phone, the final word is once it gets inspected by Assurance/Tmobile. If they find the iPhone to not be in 'good condiiton', they can deny the credits and you can get stuck with paying the full price for the iPhone you got at the store. There isn't anything the Tmobile store can do about that. Worst case scenario, which I've heard from reps is that they keep the phone, which means you lose the phone as well. So its risky to make an iffy phone pass the Tmobile store inspection, IMO.
Actually the store takes a loss on that trade in since they're the ones liable for the pre-inspection. The customer isn't impacted. This info came from tmo employees on reddit.

I was thinking of updating my iPhone 8plus thru Sprint. I was surprised that my phone number isn't eligible for the transfer. Is there really no way for me to keep my existing number if I switch to T-Mobile? I've had my same number since early 2000s. Will be a huge hassle updating my contact info everywhere.

Would trading in a iPhone 7 now be a good choice? Or wait for the new phones in sept.

Yea check their website. My store shows about 30 in stock. Gonna be there when they open to cherry pick 2 clean ones.
Did you get one? Were they all not in good enough condition to trade in? How confident can I be that the mirocenter phones will have clean IMEI?

If I were to buy this for selling elsewhere, are there any restrictions - do I need to pay them off before I can do that? I realize unlocking could be a challenge while on EIP but can I sell it as a TMobile locked phone?
Anyone can comment on this?

What is there to comment on? If you have already paid off your A32 5G EIP, there's nothing you can do otherwise so you just have to wait to see whether you will or will not receive those bill credits.

Anyone else who "did this" also would also be waiting with baited breath to see if the free phone bill credits would be applied or not on the future next bill. No one can tell you now how it all worked for them because they would be in the same position as you. And even if they did something different to get it all working (and this is a hypothetical, there is no other option), it's too late for you to change what you did.
Im in the same bot. I called t-mobile and was told im eligible for both promos. Lets see if i get the credits.

Check your local Micro Center store (if you're lucky to be next to one...).
Are the phones at microcenter guaranteed to have clean IMEI?
