Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I've sent in an iPhone 6 on a previous deal for a phone and it had the screen replaced. Doesn't matter as long as it's not cracked and no water damage.
So I took in a phone that had its screen replaced and I was denied because the water damage indicator was no longer in the phone

YMMV

But I wouldn't risk doing the trade of that phone online

I have no idea! am1512 (above) is the only one so far to be reporting this. This would be on another level if MicroCenter were to sell stolen/blocked but nothing is impossible... What I am just a little hesitant is the website am1512 is using to verify the IMEI. Looks incredibly sketchy plus they now charge you a fee to run it.

am1512: can you report what happens when you run your IMEI on Tmobile's own site: https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...phone#imei

For the record, I just checked mine and got:
  • It's well equipped to take advantage of our network technology, like Extended Range LTE and VoLTE. Tell me more
  • This phone is not blocked—it's ready to use on the T-Mobile network.
If I run the check on t mobile at the link you gave above. It is now clearly saying that it is blocked. Please see below. And sickw.com is the only other website which says it is blacklisted by t mobile. Swappa and even t-mobile itself will allow you to move forward with trade in for that IMEI if you try to order iPhone 12 online for this deal. It was also giving me message on my t-mobile account that it is unlocked phone but wasn't there it was telling that it is blocked.

This phone is blocked. Contact T-Mobile USA, Inc for the phone's status.

With respect to sickw.com, I would say it is giving correct information. In the last 15 months, I have purchased almost 15+ iPhones (I have more than 12 lines with t mobile) and every time I used "apple basic info" option with the respective IMEI and I was able to clearly see that phone is locked and then once t mobile confirms it is unlocked I used to see unlocked result there. It is definitely connecting to apple server and getting valid info's So far for me it already worked. It used to free but now 0.10.

I contacted micro center and they agreed for refund but I lost the deal unfortunately. Anyone tried getting on swappa with just IMEI? please let me know and I can still catch the deal.

You have to submit a rebate request. You will get it in about 14 weeks
Is there a flyer that shows this at the kiosk? Not the rebate form, just the $30 Cash Card promo.

My imei is correct but model number is wrong, for the shipping label of my trade. I asked Tforce yesterday, this was the response:

The important part is the IMEI number. That is what is going to be scanned in so you will be good to go. The IMEI acts as the identifier even over the model. I hope the sheds some light on this and provides some peace of mind.
That's incorrect. An actual human being is gonna verify and check the device, if the device you're trading is qualified for the promotion you will get that even if the device is different.

Which phone has its water damage indicator attached to the screen? Just curious. Normally it's in the SIM card slot.

Not sure. I guess when the screen was replaced they didn't have it? I'm not sure

I'm chatting with t force now to see if they can help me

Where does Costco advertise their $30 cash card? Does anyone have a picture or link?

Can you buy an iphone on your own upgrade line and just give it to a friend that uses t mobile? How about the unlock policy in this case?

Only thing I don't like about this type of deal is it doesn't account for the upgraded space both ways. I'm trading in an upgraded 256MB iPhone X for a 256MB 12 Pro and have to pay the $109 difference up front.

My confirmation email says my trade is $59 and not $530. Anyone else? I did the payment plan like it required.
That's completely normal and how T-Mobile works with promotions like these. Did the promotion show during the trade and checkout process? That's what's important.

I checked mine on swappa before buying at microcenter and it said available. Went ahead and paid $20 to upgrade at a tmo store and they took it.

Yes, that's absolutely normal. I traded in a phone in-store today and was told the same thing. I've been with TMO long enough to know this is true.

No, your phone will not be accepted if it's cracked. Including the back. You will not get the full $830. I can't say for certain how much you will get, but you are going to be very disappointed.
I asked on Twitter:

Hi folks, I have question about Mother's Day iPhone promo. My wife has OnePlus 6T with cracked glass on the back of the phone. Would it qualify for trade in?

Answer:
The important thing is to make sure that the cracks do not extend to the front screen of the phone. If the front screen is totally intact and the cracks are just on the back glass, then the phone is absolutely still eligible to be traded in and will work perfectly for this promotion, getting us $380 back in credits.

Yup, as long as they're also on T-Mobile it's fine. Unlock policy is the same... after 40 days of use on the T-Mobile network and with the EIP paid off they will unlock it no problem.
