Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Is anyone else planning on selling their "free" iPhone 12 ? Not really digging the new iPhone 12. its technically not mine yet until the 2 years are up, but has anyone been able to sell a phone on eip bill credits without t mobile problems?

Someone from another thread (I believe it's from free Galaxy A32) said you can just cross out the IMEI on the receipt and write down the new one that you're sending in. S/he said s/he did that multiple times and worked every time. Not sure if anyone else has done this.
I just called T-mobile and confirmed it. They said you can also change the IMEI through the trade in email instructions, the email which contains the return process. just reply that email and they'll change it for you.

You can but if the buyer decided to trade in that phone say a year from now you will lose the credit. That's what I understand. Can someone confirm that?

But technically they wouldn't be able to trade it in because it wouldn't technically be paid off and still on eip credits

Interesting... first time in all these threads someone is saying you can change the IMEI of your trade in after it has been submitted. Everyone kept saying you had to cancel the order and do it again.

Phone technically should be paid off before you sell it. Any remaining credits get applied to the account as the EIP will be paid off. The buyer can trade it in without issues as there isn't a balance.

Did anyone get a trade-in amount of $0? That's what I got for my unlocked S9 in the store but I just checked on their website and I should have gotten $65. My account shows "Monthly credits remaining:" as 24 and "Amount of monthly credit:" as $34.59 which seems correct though?

But OP will lose the remaining credit from T mobile since the buyer traded it in correct?

I've gotten it changed but had to speak to their Promotions department and they amended it on their back end and it worked out fine.

I did have a rep tell me, the IMEI doesn't need to match as long as the phone being traded in is exactly the same make and model - down to the color and capacity. But I have my doubts on that.

No, the EIP credits will be applied to the account rather the line. so you don't lose the credits.
Its the same as you paying it off yourself and trading it in. The credits continue for the 24 month period.

IMO, it all varies - Trading in a T-mobile branded version will generate a dollar amount almost all the time. However, trading in an unlocked version or a different carrier version can be $0 or a small amount of credit.

So its not always the same case for everyone.

NP. Also benefit of paying it off is unlocking it and getting a better resell value. But then it means it has to be opened and used on the network.
