So instead of plugging the charging cable in, you pay extra to snap this on, and it charges slower? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the point of this
Goos price! The charger attaches to my apple case firmly, and charges decently fast. However, the cable is too short for it to be practical. I purchased it to use it in bed/couch but ended up using it on the desk due to short cable.
You don't need to be hard wire. The phone just needs to be in a charging state.

I just bought an iPhone 12 today and … I am not buying this. I do use a wireless charger dock, but the normal speed ones are completely adequate overnight. (This helps reduce debris buildup in the port, IME, just by virtue of using it less.) If I am in more of a hurry than "overnight", I will plug into USB C and the phone charges really fast. Oh, and I can use my own convenient length cables for the dock and the direct charge.

I'm assuming MagSafe is good for something but I'm still waiting to find out what.
do you have a magsafe case?

I think it's pretty darn nifty, just makes life a little nicer

car charging
ring holder that's quick to disassemble, good for kickstand and overall grip of the max series
cables that break/damage are a thing of the past

My friend has one and likes it. The magnetic feature is REALLY nice. The one she used to use would start charging and the phone would slightly shift and stop charging and she wouldn't realize until the next morning and would have a dead phone all day.

I got a slim case made by Torras and it has no problem locking on. Not sure what the other person is talking about stating that it won't stick (he had replied to you earlier). The lock is pretty solid, so I would say you would be fine based on my experience with mine.
My personal experience says otherwise. So at best, it's a mixed bag... and more importantly to his specific use case, I seriously doubt it'll hold the weight of his phone while driving and bouncing.

dont buy it. you need a charger, you need a magsafe phone case. 99% phone cases does not support magsafe. you would probably 2 hours of surfing to find out which charger and phone case to get. it is like you get a expensive tie, realizing you need a nice suit, then shoes, then watch, ...
