The first thing you do when you get a thermometer is check to make sure it's accurate. Put the probe in boiling water and make sure the thermometer is reading 212°.

I got one last time and my roast was suppose to come out medium rare but came out well done, if u want your meats perfectly to your liking I would buy something else, if you would like to be in for a surprise each time, feel free to buy this one

some people have multi-floor houses and would like to stay at a different floor while it is being cooked for 40+ minutes. regular thermo alarm sometimes cannot be heard.

This deal also worked for the next model up which has two independent probes, so I got both models for the price of the double probe model

Got mine and it works ok. Takes a second to setup and the app is easy enough to figure out. Nice to have the loud beeping from the unit when you hit your temp even if the app is closed.
