Better most likely not, will it do the job and cut your grass, yeah it will. Only concern is the run time based on the amh of the battery. That's it! Some mowers have 2 cross blades instead of 1 and will give a "better" cut. I have a 60v Craftsman because it was cheap and i needed a replacement, it worked on 300sqf and it works on half an ac up a hill. Only thing with battery powered anything, you will be locked into a system so be prepared when it comes to other choosing other tools. Unless you don't care and buy what fits your needs. Then again you will end up with a bunch of different batteried tools. But battery tools, especially regarding lawns are here to stay.
Not better. But you don't need to worry about tuneup and gas / oil. Depending on how big your lawn is might work or not.
The 80 volt motor will use less amperage than the 24 volt motor while doing the same amount of work. Also, there will be more max-power at the mowers disposal. Consider this math for total power capacity. W=V x A is the formula. This mower has 80V x 4Ah = 320Wh of power capacity (like a gas tank)
The other mower you mentioned is 24V x 5Ah x 2 = 240 Wh.

Practically, I have found higher AH rated batteries giving better performance even in the same tool.

Considering all this, I would always go for the higher Voltage tool and higher Ah rated batteries. I am not an expert at all, and welcome other people to chime in with their experiences and thoughts.

And tiny headlights. The pic, at least, definitely appears to be of the older model

EDIT: can't confirm because my google-fu is failing me. Perhaps this model# (2515902AZ) is BB-specific. Can't find it anywhere else

Looks like it's also $399.99 on Amazon. Went with Amazon since their delivery date was sooner than Best Buy.

What's a better deal? One with the 4Ah battery for $399, or One with 5Ah battery for $456 from Walmart?

It would depend on the size of your yard. Obviously the 5H will run longer but will also take longer to charge. I have two 2AH and can thus charge one while using the other. But it takes longer to charge than the 2AH will last. There are slower charges. I have to put the battery in the fridge for awhile then charge it if I mostly use it. Otherwise the charger will stop charging as the battery gets too hot.

I have had this mower, a Kobalt 80V for about three years and the batteries still fully charge.

Not so sure about last years. But seems to me it is old enough to replace it with a newer mower. Doubt the newer ones will be that much better, unless you mow at night.

If you have a small yard, go for it. If you have anything larger than 0.25 acres, gas mower is your best choice.

Thanks OP! I am upgrading my corded electric greenworks with this one for my small lawn. This is a great find. The Costco version of this mower has just an extra 2AH battery for $200 more. I can always buy that battery for $120 - $140 making this deal about $60-$80 better than Costco.

I brought the 60v version of this at a Lowes closeout in January 2020 for $190. My yard is almost a 1/2 acre. The self propelled part works great. It cuts well. I brought an extra battery, $120, so if I decide to do my entire yard in one day, I'm retired so I usually do the front one day and the back the next, I can. Very pleased. Will never buy another gas walking mower again.
