If you exclude the offbrand Android TV devices that most consumers have never even heard of before (and even us techie folks!). There's literally only one device on the market that supports them: Nvidia Shield.

Ultimately as a streaming device there's no incentive for the hardware manufacturers to include this codec because none of the streaming apps even use it. Take out Plex and Kodi, (which arguably also have significantly lower rates of legally streamed content, which the manufacturers care even less to support) and you have little reason to add the lossless audio codec passthrough support.

I exercised my displeasure in this situation and just bought a 2019 Shield TV pro to voice it.

Double check to see if there's app to show those channels. I know spectrum has a app so you wouldn't need their box.

Please correct me if not applicable to this model BUT Roku Ultra devices feature Apple Airplay, meaning it's kind of like having an Apple TV without the Apple TV price!
